What is a path?
A path is the list of droids each rank asks for, from rank 1 to 40. Every Super Rebirth moves you to the next path: 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5 → 6, then back to 1. Each path asks for different droids, but the credit cost and slot unlocks of each rank are the same on every path.
Where are the rebirth requirements (paths/cycles), and how many rebirth levels are there?
Each path has a fixed list, shown on your rebirth screen (path in the top-right). Lists for every path (RB 0-40) are pinned on the subreddit and on tracker sites.
Paths advance with each Super Rebirth: 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5 → 6 → 1. Path 6 (40 levels) arrived with WG-22 (10 Oct). v1.35.0 (17 Oct) reworked Path 6, even for players partway through it, so use charts made after 17 Oct. One AI-made comparison says the new Path 6 needs far more Upgrade Chips early.
v1.26 raised the cap to RB35 (Stellar droids for RB31-35). v1.32 (26 Sept) added RB36-40 with Kyber droids: Rares at RB36, Epics at RB37, two Epics and a Legendary at RB38. You don't need to SRB to unlock new levels. Dailies can give rebirth droids (Stellar Legendaries since v1.32.0); the Droid Archives charts cover cycles 1-6.
How do astromech missions decide what I get, and which droid should I send?
Each mission shows its odds: mostly credits, plus blueprints of its variant or the one below. Galactic (1T) is 80% credits, 15% Beskar, 5% Galactic; Stellar (6T) arrived in v1.26. Mythics never come from missions.
Blueprint rarity rises with your rebirth level or income, so expect Epics after an SRB (often to RB20-22). There's no confirmed formula. Since v1.26.2 you get a consistent rarity and variant with a random droid.
The droid you send changes only mission time. Iconics are fastest, and R2-D2 doubles crates; astromechs follow by rarity and variant. Non-astromechs are slow (a Galactic Mo-Trak ~7 minutes, a Stellar RIC-1200 24). You can cancel missions at the terminal (v1.25).
I can't find the droid I need for my next rebirth – any tricks?
It's belt luck, and some droids (R2, R6, Groundmech, ARG, Ric-1200, Loadlifter, Snow Mouse) are rare. Grab a lower variant and upgrade it with chips behind the Cantina. Or use Droid Fusion (v1.27): three of one rarity give a random droid of the next rarity, and three of the same droid give its next variant.
Do dailies (since v1.24 they can give a rebirth droid), check the hourly Limited Deal, switch lobbies, and ask in public lobbies. Track the droid with the Rebirth Droid alert and the Droidex Notification perk (v1.29). Stash future requirements early.
For Mythics, fusion is the reliable route: fuse Galactic or Stellar Legendaries (from dailies and Stellar missions) into random Mythics, or three lower-variant copies of the one you need. A full public lobby at the XX:55 timer spawns one Mythic/Stellar/Kyber blueprint per player (6 instead of 1 solo). Before an SRB, upgrading any variant is fine, since you lose it anyway.
Are the 1T Galactic and 6T Stellar astromech missions worth unlocking?
Yes, if you push past about RB22-23. If you SRB around RB20-21, the 1T won't pay back.
Galactic missions (v1.23.0) cost 1T per station and Stellar (v1.26) cost 6T; you lose both on Super Rebirth. Each gives 80% credits, 15% blueprint of the variant below and 5% of its own (Beskar/Galactic or Galactic/Stellar), Legendary at most and never Mythic. Long dry streaks are normal, and there's no Kyber mission.
Payouts scale with your base: tens of billions per Galactic mission early, 500-890B per Stellar late. Unlock one station first and put R2-D2 on it (2 crates since v1.23.2). Keep ~1.44T spare for an expensive Mythic. Since v1.26.2, missions roll a consistent rarity and variant with a random droid.
I'm new – what's the point of the game and how do I progress?
It's a tycoon loop with no fixed end. Buy blueprints from the Sandcrawler belt, craft them (hit the bench with your pickaxe to speed up), put droids to work, and swap in better earners. Rebirth when you have the required droids plus credits; the pinned guides show which to keep.
Variants: Default < Gold < Diamond < Rainbow < Beskar < Galactic < Stellar < Kyber. Rarities: Common to Mythic. Do dailies, astromech missions and World Missions (Protocol droids, chips, Kyber Crystals), and fuse spare droids.
Super Rebirth when rebirths slow, around RB18-20 the first time. Buy the Rebirth Droid alert, one level of Blueprint Scrap, then Scrap Value. From RB20 rebirths pay Nova Crystals, so later runs reach RB35-40. Public lobbies bring helpers and the odd griefer; private is calmer. FOAD makes the game. Huyang, who activates Kybers, is under the pickaxe room.
For a rebirth, does the required droid need to be in my base, and does a higher variant count?
Yes, it must be in your base (work slot, lounge or companion); Droidex alone doesn't count. A higher variant counts: Beskar, Galactic or Stellar covers Gold, Stellar covers Galactic, and no variant means Default or better.
Chip-upgraded droids count, as does a higher variant fused from three of the same droid. Fusing a required droid into something else loses it, and fusion droids don't count as their ingredients. RIC and RIC-1200 are different droids.
Kyber requirements (RB36+) need an activated droid, any colour. If the rebirth won't trigger, you may be slightly short (credits are rounded on screen); try rejoining.
Why do my daily quest rewards change (Beskar, Rainbow, random droids)?
Daily blueprints scale with your workshop. Since v1.24 a reward can be a rebirth droid, but never a Mythic or Galactic. Once your base outearns a Beskar Legendary, rewards drift to Rainbow or random droids, so late rebirths often get worse dailies than RB18.
v1.26.2 made dailies a consistent rarity and variant with a random droid. v1.32.0 added Stellar Legendary rebirth droids to the pool.
Players disagree on the rest. Some think rewards lean toward your next rebirth; others say they aren't weighted. One RB34 player got Galactic instead of Stellar Legendaries while others at RB34-40 still got Stellar. Some say rebirth level sets the tier; others say income does. No patch note mentions a change.
How does Droidsmith level (in-game XP) work?
Almost everything that earns credits gives Droidsmith XP: crafting, collecting, scrapping, selling and missions. Each Super Rebirth raises your XP multiplier for good, and events give double XP. It's separate from pickaxe level and battle pass XP.
It only unlocks droid paint colours and sets your lobby leaderboard spot. The last paint, at level 500, is far out of reach.
How many Upgrade Chips does it cost to upgrade a droid's variant?
It depends on rarity and target variant, one step at a time; the station behind the Cantina shows the cost first. Mythic after v1.26: Gold ~4k, Diamond ~8k, Rainbow ~14k, Beskar 30k, Galactic 60k, Stellar 90k (200k+ total), then Kyber ~30k.
Lower rarities cost far less: Beskar to Galactic is ~16k for a Legendary, 5k for an Epic. Iconics and fusion droids can't be upgraded. Protocol droids can (~200k for a TDA to Stellar).
Is there a checklist or tracker for the droids I have and the ones I need for rebirths?
In game, the Droidex is your checklist, per variant and per Kyber colour (v1.32). The Droidex Notification perk alerts you about droids you track.
For rebirths, use the pinned rebirth guides (paths 1-5, now up to RB40) or trackers like SRB Control, gonk.tools, Droid Tycoon Pathfinder or the Google Sheets rebirth tracker. Pathfinder and the Sheets tracker cover the reworked Path 6 (v1.35.0) and rebirths 1-40, and Pathfinder shows missing Droidex variants. Requirements depend on your path, so check you're reading yours.
Does a normal rebirth remove my droids, builds or blueprints?
No. A rebirth costs its price and resets your credits, so spend spare credits first. Droids, crafting droids and blueprints in your base stay; blueprints vanish only if their holder leaves. Only a Super Rebirth wipes your base.
What order do the droid variants (colours) go in?
Default < Gold < Diamond < Rainbow < Beskar < Galactic < Stellar < Kyber (v1.32). Activated Kybers get a colour: inactive (white) < Green < Blue < Purple. Rarity is separate: Common < Rare < Epic < Legendary < Mythic. A higher variant counts for lower-variant rebirth requirements.
Super Rebirth and Nova
When should I Super Rebirth (SRB), and is it worth it?
For a first Super Rebirth, go at about RB18-21 if credits crawl. An SRB resets your base, droids and rank in exchange for permanent multipliers, and moves you to the next path. Push further each run; once your Scrap Value and multipliers let you climb fairly fast, push to the cap (RB40 since v1.32) before you SRB. A common ladder: first SRB around 18, then ~23, ~35, then always 40.
You can SRB from Rebirth 12 (with a Rainbow Legendary or better), as many times as you like. Each SRB moves you to the next rebirth path; a sixth path arrived with the WG-22 event and was reworked in v1.35.0.
Since v1.30, every normal rebirth from RB20 pays Nova Crystals: about 1,475 in total for RB20-35, with bigger payouts above. For example, an SRB at RB35 pays 379 crystals on top of the 300 for that rebirth itself (679 total). Put early crystals into Scrap Value.
Players disagree on exact timing. A stalled first run gains more from an early SRB than from grinding. Many players simply SRB when the next rebirth becomes a chore, or takes longer than getting back to where you are.
SRB right before or during a 2x event only if you can climb back during it. Otherwise wait until after, so you can afford the event's new blueprints at a high level. Rumours of new rebirth levels are a reason to hold at the cap; Kyber did add RB36-40.
What should I buy first with Nova Crystals?
Buy Scrap Value early and push it to roughly 6-12 before you spread out; nearly every player ranks it first. A common order:
- Droid Rebirth Notification (cheap) and one level of Blueprint Scrap (required for Scrap Value).
- Scrap Value to roughly 6-12; it has no cap.
- Pickaxe Mastery: maxing it costs about 1,000 crystals and starts every run at pickaxe 29.
- Upgrade Chip Station (120) and the 2nd Companion (250, Featured tab).
- Daily Quest Crystals plus Double Daily Quests (6 crystals a day).
- Iconics: BB-8 (2x chips), Chopper (crit), R2-D2 (2 mission crates), DJ R-3X (2x World Mission points and crates). C-3PO is much better now that he is a Protocol droid.
- Max Upgrade Chip Scrap.
For quality of life, buy Blueprint Storage (a third slot is often recommended, and the six new slots at 250-1,000 each are popular), lounge slots, Collect All and Droidex Notification. Late game: Crit Chance to ~100% with Chopper, then Crit Amount and Multi Crit; extra fusion tanks and Fusion Speed; Sell Droid multipliers.
Skip the SRB "Credits" perk: each level adds only +0.2x to your multiplier, a noob trap. Leave the Flawless Charm until last, and skip lobby boost tokens. The new Kyber Droid Sell (1,000) and Huyang Hologram (1,500) are widely called poor value. v1.31 raised Iconics to 100 crystals (R2-D2/C-3PO 200, CB-23 250) and boost tokens about 5x; core perks did not change. Since v1.30 rebirths pay crystals too (about 1,475 for RB20-35, more to RB40), so crystals come much faster than before.
What do I keep and lose when I Super Rebirth?
You lose your base, all droids (including companions and Protocol droids), credits, Upgrade Chips, Kyber Crystals, rebirth level, purchased missions and every blueprint, including Blueprint Storage and the floor. There is no undo. You re-buy owned Iconics (including D-O) for 1M credits each at the reclaim vendor next to the Nova Shop. Most players reclaim the 25% earners (R2-D2, C-3PO) and BB-8 first.
You keep your Nova Crystals and everything bought with them, and the SRB award is added on top. That includes perks, the Upgrade Chip Station, lounge and storage slots, and Iconic unlocks. You also keep Droidex progress, Flawless unlocks, lightsaber unlocks, Droidsmith level, cosmetics, inventory items (e.g. Gold Splashes), fusion tokens, Gonk-O-Ween Treats and what you bought with them, and your stacking SRB credit/XP multipliers.
Since v1.35.0, Traits rolled on Iconics stay through SRB (the trait screen says so), but traits on normal droids are lost with the droids. Before you SRB, spend your chips and Kyber Crystals, for example on upgrades for missing Droidex entries. The only way to keep a blueprint is to have a friend or second account pick it up and hold it.
How do critical hits, Chopper and Multi Crit work, and are the crit upgrades worth it?
Each pickaxe swing on a crafting droid can crit and remove extra build time. Base crit chance is 1%.
The Nova Shop sells Crit Chance (+5% per level; level 1 costs 60 crystals, then +30 each level) and Crit Amount (bigger crits). Chopper as a companion adds +50% crit chance and +50% crit amount. His +50% simply adds to your chance: 25% plus Chopper is 75%, and Crit Chance 10 plus Chopper is about 100%. Check the stats board by the rebirth station with him on and off. His bonus works only for crafting and pickaxing at benches, not for combat.
Multi Crit (v1.25) rolls again when a crit lands, at half your crit chance; higher levels roll again at half of that. So going past 100% still helps: anything over 100% is a sure crit, and each further tier rolls at half the previous chance. At 140% you always get x1, about 70% x2, about 25% x3 and a few % x4. Even at 206%, x5 is under 2% per hit. Multi Crit does little without high Crit Chance.
Players aim for 150-200% with Chopper, then add Crit Amount. A common order: Scrap Value first, then Crit Chance to ~50% (100% with Chopper), some Crit Amount, Multi Crit 1-2, then alternate. Community calculators and a widely shared upgrade grid help you plan. For active crafting, use Chopper plus your best +pickaxe astromech.
Rebirth rewards past RB22 add crit chance and amount for the current run only; they reset on SRB. Event 2x bonuses raise the shown number for a while. The V-Buck Crit Pack (v1.26) refunds levels you bought with crystals.
Is the Blueprint Scrap Nova perk worth it, and can I turn it off?
Yes, buy at least one level: you need it to unlock Scrap Value. Further levels are optional; players disagree on the Beskar level (players quote 400 crystals for it).
Blueprint Scrap makes the scrap station sometimes put a blueprint in your hands. You can't turn it off, and you need one level of it to unlock Scrap Value.
Each level raises the blueprint's Variant: level 4 gives Rainbow, and the level added in v1.32.0 gives Beskar. Rarity follows your progress, up to Legendary; it never gives Mythics. Players disagree on how often it triggers at each level.
A blueprint stops you holding the pickaxe, on purpose. A spot on the station that avoided blueprints was a bug and is patched. To keep scrapping, tap instead of holding so you throw the blueprints; macros and turbo controllers that tap keep swinging. Or AFK on the station of a player without the perk, usually a new player.
Since v1.23.2, a blueprint from someone else hitting your station goes to you. That can explain a blueprint popping up while you craft at a bench, but one player saw it with nobody at their base, so that case is unsettled. The colour of scrap piles (gold, diamond, rainbow) is random and only changes the payout.
How does the Upgrade Chip Station work, and is it worth it?
The Upgrade Chip Station is a Nova Shop perk (120 crystals; also in the V-Buck VIP pack) that adds a permanent station to your base. Put a non-Iconic droid on it and it makes Upgrade Chips instead of credits. It stays after a Super Rebirth.
The rate depends on rarity and Variant, not the droid model. Players count Beskar Legendary 40/min, Galactic Legendary 48, Beskar Mythic 50, Galactic Mythic 60, Stellar Mythic 70 and Kyber Mythic 80/min. Rarity matters more than Variant, so a Beskar Mythic beats a Galactic Legendary. Park your lowest-earning droid of your best tier there; Stellar Snow Mouse or Cyclens are favourites. A Kyber Mythic doesn't need to be activated, and one player says its colour doesn't matter.
It produces only while you're online and stops after one hour of chips, so collect every hour. A Kyber Mythic makes 4,800 an hour, or 9,600 if you collect with BB-8 equipped, and 2x-chip events stack. A droid with the "+% Upgrade Chips" trait multiplies collections further and stacks with BB-8: a +100% roll gives about 4x, a 60% roll about 3.2x (see the trait tip). The droid on the station earns no credits and doesn't count for Scrap Value, and Upgrade Chip Scrap doesn't boost it.
How does CB-23 work, and is it worth the Nova Crystals?
CB-23 is an Iconic you can only get from the Nova Shop, for 250 crystals (75 before v1.31). Buying her Gonk-O-Ween costume with Treats also unlocks her. She gives 15% income and unlocks a secret astromech mission of about 18-20 minutes. It pays Upgrade Chips with a chance of Nova Crystals. BB-8 doubles the chips but not the crystals.
v1.35.0 "significantly increased" both rewards. A crystal hit is now 40 for most players, sometimes 80, instead of 4. Chips are now 240-480 a run; one player thinks they tripled from a 160 maximum. One player says the mission time and drop chance did not change, so crystal hits are still streaky.
Before the buff, many players preferred Double Daily Quests (guaranteed crystals) or the chip station. Since the buff, most call her well worth running; one player still only cares about her chips. Her Iconic Trait (v1.35.0) triples her mission rewards, and R2-D2's Iconic trait can double her crates on top. Each trait is a random roll that costs 200 crystals.
How do I earn Nova Crystals?
The fastest way is to climb past RB20 and Super Rebirth. The SRB itself pays 79 at RB20, 154 at RB25, 254 at RB30 and 379 at RB35. Since v1.30, every normal rebirth from RB20 pays crystals too: about 1,475 in total for RB20-35. Since v1.32, RB36-40 pay more; RB35-40 pay about 300 each.
Daily Quest Crystals plus Double Daily Quests give 6 a day. Events give crystals up to a cap, for example 3 per 800 points in the Protocol events and 3 per 5 Kyber crafts at the Kyber launch. Weekend events (Pumpkin Smash, WG-22 weekend) add 3 crystals per extra 50 points once the main rewards are done. The Thursday Mega Crate event and World Missions (small random drops) also pay some.
CB-23's secret mission had about a 10% chance of 4 crystals before v1.35.0; since the buff, players report 40, sometimes 80. Rainbow Super Crates rarely drop one. You earn crystals only in game. The blue/purple gem from your dailies is a Nova Crystal; you spend it at the Nova Shop next to the Cantina.
Do normal rebirths give Nova Crystals now, and what is the Nova Crystal number on the Super Rebirth button?
Yes. Since v1.30, every normal rebirth from RB20 up pays Nova Crystals, and the amount rises each level. Players saw 5 at RB20, 10 at RB21, about 120-130 at RB31, 160 at RB32, 180 at RB33 and 300 at RB35. Nothing is paid before RB20. That is about 1,475 in total for RB20-35, on top of the unchanged SRB payout (379 at RB35).
Since v1.32 the cap is RB40, and RB35-40 pay about 300 each. One player counted 3,504 crystals for a full run to RB40 including the SRB (another expected about 529 from that SRB itself), versus 1,854 to RB35. So pushing to the cap before you SRB pays far more than it used to (see the SRB-timing entry). The payout is permanent, not an event bonus. It is not retroactive: you get crystals only for rebirths you do after the update.
The Super Rebirth shortcut on your base's rebirth screen (v1.29) does NOT cost crystals. It shows how many you would get if you Super Rebirth now, and opens the normal SRB confirmation. A visual bug once made it show "50" for everyone; v1.29.1 fixed it.
Can I refund or reset Nova Shop upgrades?
No. As of v1.34.0 there is no refund, respec or toggle for Nova Shop purchases. A developer said they "might be able to add a toggle", but nothing has shipped, so read each perk before you buy.
Most requests are about Blueprint Scrap, which you need for Scrap Value. To live with it, tap rather than hold, or AFK on someone else's station. Movement Speed can't be switched off either; owners say you get used to it.
Is there a list of Nova Shop perk costs?
Yes. Since v1.29 the Nova Shop buttons show each upgrade's crystal cost; trust those in-game numbers. Community sites list every level: the Gonk Tools wiki (gonk.tools), SRB Control, Droid Archives' Nova Shop page, tracker sites and a widely shared spreadsheet.
Scrap Value rises 30 per level (25, 55, 85 ...) and has no level cap. Crafting Speed rises 15 per level. Sell Droid Chip multiplier costs 60/100/140/180, and Sell Droid Credit multiplier 25/40/55. Fusion Speed costs 10, 35, 60 (+25 each), and extra fusion tanks 300 each. Super Crates cost 10/25/50, Upgrade Chip Station 120, 2nd Companion 250 and Droidex Notification 20. Newer items: Kyber Droid Sell 1,000, Huyang Hologram 1,500, and Blueprint Storage slots 4-9 at 250/350/500/650/800/1,000 (tracker-site figures, not official).
v1.31 raised Iconics from 30 to 100 crystals: R2-D2 and C-3PO went from 60 to 200, and CB-23 from 75 to 250. Lobby boost tokens rose about 5x: Luck 40 → 200, Crafting Boost 30 → 150, and Rainbow/Beskar/Galactic/Stellar Surge 100/150/300/450. Featured, Core, Workshop and Cosmetic perks did not change.
How does the Double Daily Quests perk work?
After you finish all 3 daily quests, go back to the quest board and roll 3 more, once per day. You get a second set of rewards, including the Nova Crystal. With Daily Quest Crystals as well, you get 6 crystals a day, and the pair pays back in about 25 days.
Some players got another set the same day after a Super Rebirth, but results vary. The re-roll can stay locked for as long as you took to finish the previous day's set. If dailies don't reset, rejoin a lobby. v1.18 and v1.22 fixed earlier reset bugs.
Why isn't my Rebirth Droid alert (Jawa notification) going off?
The Droid Rebirth Notification alerts you when a droid you need for your next rebirth is on the belt. If you own no version, it alerts for every Variant, even Default. If you own a lower Variant than required, it alerts only for better ones. It stops once you own the right one.
Players report no alerts when all your benches are full; for others, rejoining a lobby fixed it. When the cap rose to RB35 (v1.26), players at RB30 suddenly got alerts again for RB31 droids, which is expected. To track one specific droid, use the Droidex Notification perk (v1.29; higher-variant option since v1.29.1).
Is Pickaxe Mastery worth it, and how many pickaxe levels are there?
Pickaxe Mastery is a Nova perk that sets the pickaxe level you start each run with after a Super Rebirth. Maxed, it costs about 1,000 crystals in total and starts every run at pickaxe 29. Each pickaxe level adds about 1.2 s per hit on a build.
Buying a Mastery level also raises your current pickaxe to that level right away, so it can replace costly credit upgrades. Only levels from the perk carry over. Levels you buy with credits past it reset on SRB, so buying level 30+ right before an SRB is wasted.
29 is the maximum for now. It used to be 25, so players expect it may rise. Most players say max it right after Scrap Value: frequent SRBers love starting high, and it helps with World Mission rocks. A few call it optional or say a handful of levels saves little.
What are the coin tiles in other players' bases?
They are Collect All tiles from the Nova Shop's Workshop tab. Stand on one to collect every droid's credits in that area at once. There is one each for the battle, astromech and worker areas, in that order, and you keep them through Super Rebirth.
Players disagree on their value. They help when you need credits fast for a belt spawn. But many players rank Scrap Value, chip scrap and the rebirth alert far higher, and some prefer leaving credits stored at their droids.

Is the scrap station worth hitting, and how does the Scrap Value perk work?
The scrap station is worth hitting once you have the Scrap Value perk; without Nova perks it pays little after the first rebirths. The station's own level adds very little and only makes piles take more hits. Scrap Value needs one level of Blueprint Scrap to unlock.
Each Scrap Value level makes a hit pay 0.5 seconds of your workshop's total income (level 20 = 10 s). Breaking a pile pays a big final hit; one player says 20x a normal hit, unconfirmed. Workshop income includes station bonuses, Protocol droids and your credit multiplier. Droids you take out as companions lower it (park them in the lounge to compare), and the chip-station droid doesn't count. Protocol droids are the exception: two as companions boost hits a lot, because their multiplier applies to you. One player saw about 4,200% income while hitting.
Scrap Value has no level cap; claims of "max 10" or "caps at 18" are wrong. Costs rise by 30 crystals per level (25, 55, 85...). Every level adds the same 0.5 s, so level 1 is a huge jump and later levels add a shrinking share: 0.5 s on top of 10 s is +5%. Your payout grows mainly with base income and SRB multipliers. Many players stop around 10-12 and move to crit; others run 10-25, and a few 40 (about 37T per hit).
Hitting a lower-level player's station is easier (fewer hits per pile). Right after an SRB, another player's station pays far more than your own empty base. Swapping stations pays both of you, and v1.33.0 adds a +50% party bonus.
How do I make credits faster once rebirths cost hundreds of billions?
Super Rebirth often and put Nova Crystals into Scrap Value. It has no cap; most push it to 8-12+, and 10+ past RB35. Each scrap hit then pays seconds of your total income. Every SRB also adds to your permanent credit multiplier. Players with 200x+ got there by SRB-ing often, which is why early runs feel slow and later ones fly. If RB18-25 crawls on an early run, SRB again rather than grind.
Since v1.30, use Protocol droids. Put them on the protocol stations (C-3PO x3 on your best area). Carry two as companions when you scrap or collect missions; they add to your multiplier.
Swap scrap hits with another player or party up: both of you earn, and v1.33.0 adds a +50% bonus for hitting a party member's station. Push big rebirths during 2x-credit events, and AFK the station during the Tuesday 2x-credit window. Keep running Galactic (1T) and Stellar (6T) astromech missions; payouts scale with your base income. Fill every slot with your best earners, and sell spare Stellar Mythics with C-3PO. Don't buy the "Credits" perk; it adds only +0.2x per level.
What's the best way to get Upgrade Chips?
Always have BB-8 equipped when chips come in: he doubles every source. In a party, v1.33.0 adds +20% chips per other party member (max +100%) on every chip source; one player saw 72 chips per scrap hit. There is no chip cap, not even 1M; players hold 4M+.
The best sources, in order: (1) the Upgrade Chip Station (70/min with a Stellar Mythic, 80 with a Kyber Mythic; collect hourly with BB-8). (2) World Missions: fishing and rock missions with BB-8 (and DJ R-3X) pay thousands of chips each, and players report 15-30k from a good fishing run. (3) Upgrade Chip Scrap maxed, and swapping scrap stations with a friend who also has it. (4) Building and selling Gold+ droids with the Sell Droid chip perk, BB-8 and Jawa Bartering. (5) Super Crates with BB-8 + DJ (3x). (6) The Thursday Mega Crate event's 2x chips. (7) CB-23's mission, buffed in v1.35.0 to a reported 240-480 chips a run.
Droid Fusion can make the droid you need instead of upgrading one. Chips reset on Super Rebirth, so spend them first.
Are the Super Crates (world crate) upgrades worth it?
Super Crates is good for Upgrade Chips and decent credits if you enjoy flying laps, but poor as a crystal farm. It is a Nova perk in three steps (10, 25 and 50 crystals) that upgrades the world crates around the map to Gold, Diamond and Rainbow. Some players report 40-70k chips an hour.
Each tier first gives hat variants until you own them all (about an hour of farming). The odd "blurred" or wrapped rewards in the spinner are Gold/Diamond/Rainbow hat variants. After that, crates give credits, Upgrade Chips and, only from Rainbow crates, an occasional Nova Crystal (roughly 1-2% per crate, from player counts).
Players disagree on DJ R-3X plus BB-8: some say chips really come out 3x and the pop-up's 2x is a visual bug, others say it stays 2x. A popular route is to clear Gold/Diamond crates in one area so Rainbow crates respawn there. v1.25 buffed crates and v1.25.2 toned them down to a middle ground, still better than the scrap station with DJ and BB-8. An accidental nerf in v1.26 was reverted in v1.26.1.
Do I earn as much offline as online?
No. You earn less offline than online, and only your working droids count; no Nova perk boosts it. Uncollected credits stay at your stations and stack, so you never lose them. The offline cap has grown; players report 9 hours. v1.25 added offline boosts at RB25 and RB28.
Crafting timers and missions keep running offline. Equip two worker companions before you log off to speed up long builds; they don't affect the fusion tank.
The Offline Earnings screen shows your rate, and v1.27 added player stats to it. During 2x events it shows the doubled rate, but offline pay is not doubled, so the rate seems to drop after events. It can also get stuck after you swap Iconics; swapping or crafting a droid refreshes it.
Can I AFK pickaxe the scrap station or a build, and is auto-clicking allowed?
Yes, players AFK with physical tricks: a rubber band, hair tie or tape on the trigger, a weight on the mouse button, or the controller resting on its triggers. Turbo controllers work too. On PS5, hold R2 and press the PS or Create/capture button; capture keeps belt notifications visible. On Xbox, hold the trigger and press the Xbox button. Your character keeps swinging, but on split screen this freezes both players.
Many PC players use auto-clickers and macros, but some warn about anti-cheat, and there is no official statement. Fortnite kicks idle players after about 15 minutes (Epic changes this), so move the stick now and then. A tap instead of a hold also throws the blueprints Blueprint Scrap puts in your hands.
Picking up a scrap-station blueprint often spins your character to a random angle, so you stop hitting. This is a known bug; one player says crouching while you pickaxe avoids it. The shelves beside the scrap table that an AFK spot relied on are gone. A developer said they are working on these bugs, but Epic updates keep breaking things.
How do the Sell Droid credit and chip perks work?
Two Nova perks from v1.26 boost what you get when you sell a crafted droid. Sell Droid Upgrade Chip Multiplier has 4 levels (60/100/140/180 crystals) for up to +200% chips. Sell Droid Credit Multiplier has 3 levels (25/40/55) for up to +750% credits. They apply automatically to crafted droids, but not when you sell a blueprint to the Jawas.
They stack with BB-8 (2x chips), C-3PO (2x credits), Jawa Bartering's chance to double, and 2x-chip events. With the chip perk maxed, players get roughly 400 chips per Legendary/Mythic sold: for example, a Gold Legendary gives 252 (504 with BB-8) and a Galactic Legendary R7 288. Buy BB-8 and the chip station first.
The droid menu since v1.28 no longer shows the boosted sell values, but the bonus still applies. If prices look halved, an event's 2x chips has ended; base values did not change.
Droids and stations
What does each Iconic droid's perk do, and which should I unlock first?
Unlock BB-8 and Chopper first. BB-8 doubles Upgrade Chips from every source. Chopper, the crafting companion, adds +50% crit chance and +50% crit amount. Costume buyers then mostly pick R2-D2 and C-3PO.
DJ R-3X doubles World Mission points (the key to 4-star crates) and world crates; take him for every World Mission. With BB-8 that's 3x chips, even if the pop-up shows one bonus. R2-D2 earns 25% and gives 2 reward crates (2x) for missions he flies from his own slot; he no longer speeds missions.
C-3PO earns 25% and doubles sell credits. As a Protocol droid he gives x3 credits to an area or +40 s/s to a crafting bench. D-O halves fusion time for fusions started while equipped. CB-23 runs a secret mission; since v1.35.0 it gives about 40 (sometimes 80) Nova Crystals and a few hundred chips.
Mister Bones doubles weapon damage, so he beats IG-11 for combat World Missions. He doesn't stack with Chopper, whose crit is pickaxe crit. IG-11 Marshal shields fresh blueprints, but bounce pads beat it (hover just off the ground with a jetpack). WG-22 (15% income, 2x Flawless) is mostly a money droid.
Nova Shop prices since v1.31: 100 crystals for most, 200 for R2-D2 and C-3PO, 250 for CB-23. After a Super Rebirth (SRB), re-buying one costs 1M credits. During Gonk-O-Ween, buying an Iconic's costume with Treats also unlocks it.
Since v1.35.0 each Iconic can roll an exclusive Iconic Trait at the Trait Scanner (random, 200 crystals a roll). R2-D2's (50% double crates on all astromech missions) and CB-23's (3x mission rewards) rate highest.
What are the Flawless odds and how do I improve them?
Odds depend only on the variant you craft: Default 1/1000, Gold 1/500, Diamond 1/250, Rainbow 1/125, Beskar 1/100, Galactic 1/75. The official Flawless guide skips Stellar and Kyber; players use 1/50.
Every craft is an independent roll, with no pity counter, so long dry streaks are normal. Owning more Flawless droids doesn't help, and duplicates of a type add nothing.
To farm, craft high-variant droids during 2x Flawless events. WG-22 as a companion also gives 2x, but only if equipped when the craft completes. It's unconfirmed whether it stacks with the Flawless Charm (one guess: 1/50 → 1/25 → 1/12.5).
The 500-crystal Flawless Charm (2x) works only in your own base and stacks with event 2x. Most treat it as a last buy for completionists.
Which companion is better for building droids: +Pickaxe level (astromech) or % crafting speed (worker)?
Use +pickaxe companions (an astromech, or Chopper for crits) while you actively pickaxe. Use crafting-speed workers when you're away or logging off.
Crafting speed makes the timer tick faster: with a '+1.8/s' worker it drops 2.8 s each second. Two workers add up, each Nova Crafting Speed level adds +0.1 s/s, and it works offline (since v1.23.2).
Each pickaxe level removes about 1.2 s per swing; event 2x pickaxe doubles it. Gold Splash makes you swing faster. Worker speed doesn't apply to the fusion tank, which has its own Nova perk.
I missed an event – can I still get its Iconic droid (BB-8, Mister Bones, IG-11, DJ R-3X, R2-D2)?
Yes, you can still get the Iconic, but usually not the event cosmetics. Iconics never come from the conveyor.
After a waiting period it goes on sale in the Nova Shop's Iconic tab: 100 Nova Crystals for most, 200 for R2-D2 and C-3PO, 250 for CB-23 (since v1.31). After each Super Rebirth you reclaim it for 1M credits.
During Gonk-O-Ween, buying an Iconic's costume in the Event Shop with Treats unlocks it free. That covers C-3PO, R2-D2, BB-8, CB-23, IG-11 and Mister Bones, not Chopper or D-O. Treats can be spent until 7 Nov. Old events don't come back after their one rerun, so use this route rather than wait.
Iconic events usually run twice (WG-22's reran 17-18 Oct, v1.35.0). Past base paints return only with a rerun. Weekly mini events give neither Iconic nor paint, and the Dance Party never gives DJ R-3X.
Talk to a finished event Iconic to claim it. If your companion slots are full, it waits at the Iconic vendor for 1M credits.
What is a Flawless droid and what does it do?
Flawless is a random 'shiny' roll when a droid finishes crafting, marked by a sparkle icon. Your first Flawless of a type unlocks its sparkle for every droid of that type, any variant, in the Customize menu. It also adds +0.01x to your base earnings multiplier.
The unlock is permanent and survives Super Rebirth, so you can sell, upgrade or fuse the droid. Extra copies of a type count for nothing; that's not a bug. Base paints unlock at 15 and 50 unique types.
Flawless isn't a variant. Any craft can roll it, fusion results included, but a Flawless input doesn't make the fusion result Flawless.
Are Mythic droids permanent, and where do I get them?
Yes, Mythic is a permanent rarity above Legendary. On the conveyor they spawn at random, and the XX:55 Mythic timer drops one per player in the lobby each hour. The hourly Limited Deal can offer one. Astromech missions, daily quests and Blueprint Scrap never give them.
Since v1.27, Droid Fusion turns three same-variant Legendaries into a random Mythic of that variant, and three of the same Mythic into its next variant.
Chip upgrades cost about 4k/8k/14k/30k/60k/90k from Default up to Stellar (after v1.26), and the 'Lucky' pit droid can upgrade them. Coloured Mythics (Rainbow+) are rare on the belt, so most players farm chips or fuse. Rebirth lists start asking for Mythics around RB24.
How do Iconic droids (BB-8, Mister Bones, IG-11, DJ R-3X, R2-D2...) earn credits? What does the % mean?
An Iconic earns a share of your non-Iconic droids' base income: 15% for most (Chopper too), 25% for R2-D2 and C-3PO. The minimum is 50 credits/s, so early in a run a good Rainbow can out-earn them.
Iconics don't share in each other and ignore your credit multiplier, but they do get the +10% matching-station bonus.
Too many Iconics can lower total income; estimates of the tipping point range from 9 to 14 in a full base. Most players use them all anyway. Since v1.24 you can return one to free its slot and rebuy it for 1M.
Does it matter which station (worker / battle / astromech) I put a droid in?
Yes, a little. A droid in its matching area (green worker, red battle, purple astromech) earns +10%, shown on its card. Iconics get it too.
There's no mismatch penalty, so a much better earner in the 'wrong' slot still wins. Replace your lowest earner if the newcomer makes over 1.1x.
Crafting on the matching colour of table is about 10% faster. Keep astromechs in mission slots: others take much longer (Iconics are fastest), and CB-23 needs one. Battle droids also speed up the weapon wall's recharge.
How do two companions work, and what are the best pairs?
The 2nd Companion Nova perk (v1.23.0, about 250 crystals, or a V-Buck pack) lets two droids follow you, and both perks apply. Most rank it a top buy beside the chip station. Early in Super Rebirths (SRBs), several say raise Scrap Value first.
For active crafting, pair Chopper with your best +pickaxe astromech; two +pickaxe astromechs also stack. For selling, BB-8 + C-3PO gives 2x chips and 2x credits. For world crates and missions, BB-8 + DJ R-3X gives 3x chips. In rough lobbies, take IG-11 or Mister Bones with a sturdy droid.
Logging off with long builds, use two workers: their speeds add up (one player saw two identical droids not stack). Worker speed doesn't affect the fusion tank.
What are Galactic droids and how do I get them?
Galactic is the variant above Beskar (purple frame); Stellar sits above it since v1.26.
You get them from the Sandcrawler's Galactic timer (one per player in the lobby), random spawns, the 1T Galactic missions (Legendary at most), the 'Lucky' pit droid and Galactic Surges. Chip upgrades from Beskar cost about 5k (Epic), 16k (Legendary) and 60k (Mythic).
Fusion: three of the same Beskar droid make its Galactic, and three random Galactic Legendaries make a random Galactic Mythic. Galactic Mythics are rare on the belt, so upgrade a Rainbow or Beskar one instead. Flawless odds are 1/75.
My Droidex says I'm missing droids I can't find (e.g. 208/209). Am I missing something?
Probably not: the total rises whenever droids or variants are added. v1.32.2 set it to 673, then the WG-22 weekend added seven Gonk droids (KT, MPH, JO9-4MN, ECG, EG-58, EGL, PLNK) and the Iconic WG-22.
Each variant is its own entry, so check you built the exact one. Default vs Beskar and Gold vs Stellar blueprints are easy to mix up. For Kyber, select the colour first. Chip upgrades also discover the new variant.
Variant base paints (e.g. 60 Stellar) count unique droids, not copies. To finish, build every fusion droid in every variant and all four Protocol droids. Default TDA is hardest; chip-upgrading protocols works.
Is there a list of how much each droid earns, and which are the best per station?
Yes. Community wikis, spreadsheets and tracker sites list each droid's base income: the number over its head, before your multiplier.
Kyber tops everything once activated. The best per area is a purple Kyber fusion droid: RIV-3T (workers), X-ONK (battle), AXL-POD (astromech). These make 5-6M/s; Kyber Mythics make 2.6-3.6M/s by colour.
Below that: Stellar X-ONK and AXI-POD about 1.5M/s, LOW-MO 1.57M/s (this and X-ONK's may be a mistake), LUG-G 1.43M/s, Stellar Mythics 0.9-1M/s (Loadlifter, Mo-Trak, KX). v1.34.0 swapped two Epics: R2 360 → 480, B2 Heavy 480 → 360. Price doesn't equal income.
What does the 'Test Your Luck' pit droid in the Cantina do?
It gives one free roll every 24 hours to upgrade your companion one variant step. It shows when you can roll again.
Odds are tiny and drop for better droids (about 2% from Beskar Mythic to Galactic). There's no animation: your companion just changes colour with a sound, so check after rolling. Wins are rare but real, including Rainbow-to-Beskar and Beskar-to-Galactic. Iconics can't be upgraded.
What is the Limited Deal vendor behind the Sandcrawler?
It's a Jawa behind (left of) the Sandcrawler who sells one blueprint per hour, changing on the hour. Everyone sees the same blueprint, and each account can buy it once.
It's often a Legendary or Mythic, sometimes Stellar or Kyber. The price is the normal belt price; the 'deal' is that it's guaranteed, uncontested, and carried home in a shield bubble.
You can check the current deal without logging in on the official Discord's deal channel, community sites or an automated social-media account. Buying for others has changed without patch notes. Right now it's one purchase per account, and the blueprint keeps that lock until it goes into Blueprint Storage.
What are Stellar droids and how do I get them?
Stellar is the variant above Galactic, added in v1.26; Kyber sits above it since v1.32 (fuse 3 Stellars). Rebirths 31-35 need Stellar droids.
The Sandcrawler's Stellar timer drops one per player in the lobby every hour on the hour, five minutes after the Mythic timer. You also get random spawns, the 6T Stellar astromech missions (Legendary at most) and Galactic-to-Stellar chip upgrades (Mythic 90k). Since v1.32.0 daily quests can give Stellar Legendary rebirth requirements.
Fusion: three of the same Galactic droid make its Stellar, three random Stellar Legendaries a random Stellar Mythic, and three Galactic Mythics a Stellar Mythic. Stellar Mythics earn about 900k/s and make 70 chips/min at the chip station. Stellar Flawless odds are unpublished; players guess 1/50.
What should I do with spare Stellar Mythics I do not need?
Keep one of each you may need for a later rebirth. Then fuse, use or sell the rest.
Fuse three identical Stellars into that droid's Kyber, or three different Stellar Mythics into a random Kyber Mythic. Fusion recipes like LOW-MO (Loadlifter + two A-LTs) and X-ONK (two KX + Gonk) use them too. You can also put one on the Upgrade Chip Station.
To sell, equip C-3PO (2x credits) and BB-8 (2x chips), take the Sell Droid perks and wait for a 2x-chips event. With C-3PO and the credit-sell perk, a Stellar Mythic sells for tens of trillions.
Purple Kyber Mythics outside fusion-droid recipes can't be fused further. Sell them (the Kyber Droid Sell perk returns a few Kyber Crystals) or keep one per Droidex entry.
Why did the crafting timer change, and why are there two timers?
Crafting didn't get slower; only the display changed. v1.29 switched the timer to real seconds left, and v1.29.1 reworked it the same day.
The main 'Time Remaining' counts down as before: each swing removes a chunk. While you hit the droid, 'Estimated time' shows how long you'd need to keep swinging.
Crafting speed (worker companions, the Nova Crafting Speed perk, protocol droids behind the bench) makes the timer tick faster while you're not hitting. The fusion tank has its own timer.
Are there more battle droid slots?
Yes. v1.25 added a second floor with 6 more battle slots, on the roof above the Firing Range (up the stairs). It unlocks between Rebirth 17 and 22.
Battle droids there also speed up the weapon wall's recharge, by rarity and variant. The base had only 5 battle slots before. Spare battle droids work in worker slots too; they just miss the 10% bonus.
Can I get more than one copy of an Iconic, and what does the Return button do?
No, each Iconic is one per player. Finishing its event again gives the base paint, then Nova Crystals. After a Super Rebirth you re-buy it for 1M credits at the Iconic vendor.
Return (v1.24) sends an Iconic back to the vendor to free a base slot, for space or fusion work. Rebuy it any time for 1M credits. Since v1.35.0 its rolled Trait stays with it.
What is the Droidex 'Tracked' tab / Droidex Notification perk?
It's the Droidex Notification Nova perk (v1.29, about 20 crystals), not a new variant. Pick droids in your Droidex, and you get an alert when that blueprint appears on the conveyor. The Tracked tab lists them.
Each level tracks more droids. Alerts are for the exact variant; a second perk (v1.29.1) also alerts for higher variants. Your list saves between sessions.
Fusion droids never alert, because they have no blueprint. The separate Rebirth Droid alert covers your next rebirth's droids, which is why you get untracked alerts.
Fusion
How does Droid Fusion work, and why didn't I get a higher variant or a Stellar?
The Droid Fusion Machine (v1.27) consumes 3 crafted droids and brews a blueprint in the fusion tank. It charges credits; Stellar fusions cost about 11.2T. The screen shows the expected result before you confirm, so check it.
Rule 1: three of the same droid in the same variant give that droid one variant higher. For example, 3 Beskar Mono-Walkers give a Galactic Mono-Walker, and since v1.32 3 Stellar of one droid give its Kyber version. Three identical Kybers step up the colour instead. Rule 2: three different droids of the same rarity give a random droid of the next rarity, in the lowest variant you put in. 3 Galactic Legendaries give a random Galactic Mythic, but an Epic among them drops the result to Epic. Rule 3: three different Stellar Mythics give a random Kyber Mythic (invalid before v1.32). Rule 4: 17 special recipes make fusion droids.
Mixing variants when rarity can't go up is invalid (e.g. 2 Diamond + 1 Rainbow Mythic). Kyber Mythics can't go higher, and a lower rarity in the mix drops the result: 2 Kyber Mythics + 1 Kyber Rare give a random Kyber Legendary. For Kyber colours, see the Kyber entry.
Random really is random; droid class doesn't steer it. Protocol droids aren't in the random pool, but the new Gonk droids such as ECG are. Since v1.29.1 the same random fusion won't give the same droid twice in a row. That rule is per recipe (rarity + variant combination), and different variants count as different droids. So a Stellar then a Kyber of the same droid can follow each other. Three Stellar Legendaries and three Galactic Mythics both give a random Stellar Mythic, so alternating them can give the same droid back to back.
Most 'fusion changed' reports turn out to be a wrong input. Double-check look-alikes before you confirm (Strike Orb vs Opti-STRK, RIC vs RIC-1200). Don't feed it droids you need for a rebirth.
Is there a list of fusion recipes, and can I fuse a specific droid like KX or Loadlifter?
Only the 17 fusion droids have fixed recipes; every other fusion is random. The pinned posts, the chart on the fusion-room wall and community sheets list them all. Before you confirm, the result screen shows the droid or '???'. Examples:
- KX + KX + Gonk = X-ONK
- Loadlifter + A-LT + A-LT = LOW-MO
- Mouse + Mouse + ARG = WHL-EX
- ID10 + ID10 + BB = ZRO-TEC
- Pit + BB9 + B1 = RO-TOR
Recipes work in every variant including Kyber, but all inputs must be that variant: Kyber X-ONK = 2 Kyber KX + 1 Kyber Gonk. In Kyber, AXI-POD gives +13 pickaxe, one more than normal astro Mythics. Watch names: RIC is not RIC-1200. Three specific Beskar Mythics can form a recipe, so one player expecting a Galactic got a Beskar RIV-3T. The Gonk droids brought no new recipes. Some 'recipes' shared online (e.g. a 'KO-MAX') are fake.
Regular droids (KX, Loadlifter, RIC-1200, Cyclens, Snow Mouse, IG, Tri-Tek, LEP, Mo-Trak, DRFT-R...) have no recipe:
- Three droids of one rarity give a random droid of the next rarity; droid class doesn't steer it.
- Since v1.29.1 the same random fusion won't give the same droid twice in a row. Different variants count as different droids, though, so back-to-back Cyclens in Beskar and Stellar still happen.
- The only sure way to a specific regular droid is three of that droid one variant lower (or chips). For example, three Beskar DRFT-Rs give a Galactic DRFT-R; otherwise DRFT-R comes only from random fusion of three Legendaries.
Can fusion droids be upgraded with chips, and are they worth keeping?
No, fusion droids (the 17 recipe droids) can't take Upgrade Chips. To step one up, craft the recipe in a higher variant or fuse three of the same fusion droid in the same variant. A droid from a random fusion (e.g. BDX Explorer) is a normal droid and can be upgraded.
v1.31 (17 Sept) buffed fusion droid income. Stellar X-ONK and AXI-POD earn about 1.5M/s, LOW-MO about 1.57M/s and LUG-G about 1.43M/s, against ~0.9-1M/s for Stellar Mythics. Purple Kyber fusions reach 5-6M/s. A Kyber RIV-3T earns about 5.2M/s green and 5.6M/s blue; a Kyber Loadlifter about 3.0M/s green and 3.2M/s blue. So fusing three ~900k Stellars into one Kyber pays off once you're short of slots.
Many fusions still earn less than the droids you spend, such as N-UL, X-ONK, RIV-3T, ORB-XL, BTL-R and OPT-AR. They shine when your slots are full or you have spare droids. LOW-MO (cheap Rares plus a Loadlifter) and AXI-POD are favourites. Fusion droids don't count as their ingredients for rebirths. Since v1.29, Cantina quests pay 5x for fusion droids.
How do the fusion tank, fusion tokens and Fusion Speed work?
Every base has one fusion tank. It unlocks early in a run and resets with everything else on SRB. The Nova Shop sells a 2nd and 3rd tank for 300 crystals each. Buying asks for confirmation, so walking over the pad won't spend crystals by accident. Heavy fusers call all three tanks very useful for turning mission Legendaries into Mythics and Kybers.
Three things speed up a brew. The Fusion Speed perk is worth a few levels: each level adds 1 second per second, so level 1 halves the brew time and level 7 gives 8 s per second. D-O halves the time; equip him before you start, or equip him and hit the tank once. Hitting the tank with your pickaxe also helps, but the hitbox is fiddly and you can hit the neighbouring tank instead. One player says a 101-hour fusion takes about 53 hours with D-O and about 11 hours at 5 s per second.
Worker crafting speed does not affect the tank. The Crafting Speed Nova perk adds only +0.1 s per second per level, which players call nearly worthless next to protocol droids or worker companions.
Rush tokens are used with the green button beside the tank and are kept through SRB. Droids waiting in the fusion slots stay there when you log off, so you can use them as extra storage.
How does D-O's 'half fusion time' perk work?
D-O halves the fusion time of a fusion he's equipped for. Equip him before you start, and the halved time stays even after you swap him out (for example, for Chopper and a +pickaxe astromech to hit the tank). If you forgot, equip D-O and hit the tank once; this also halves the time, though the display doesn't show it. One player says this only works since a recent patch.
You can halve another player's fusion too: hit their tank with your D-O equipped. One player finished a friend's ~14-hour fusion this way. A second D-O doesn't halve the same fusion again (one player tested it).
D-O was the Iconic from the 29-30 Aug event (rerun 5-6 Sept). Off duty he earns 15% like other Iconics.
Protocol and Kyber
How do World Missions work, and do the stars matter?
World Missions (v1.30, permanent) run every ~30 minutes at fixed map spots: Mine Rocks, Stormtroopers, Defend and Sarlacc fishing. Join when the timer hits zero (follow the arrow) and score for the lobby. You then get a private Protocol crate (green pillar) in your base that survives lobby changes and resets and stacks (6-12+); one report says unopened crates are lost on Super Rebirth.
Crates are the only Protocol droid source and also give credits, chips and Kyber Crystals (~5 per star). Missions can drop Nova Crystals, trigger lobby boosts (v1.31: crafting at 3 stars, a surge at 4) and, since v1.35.0, Kyber Surges.
4 stars needs several players; solo usually gets 2-3. Equip DJ R-3X (2x points). Use Mister Bones and a bowcaster for Stormtroopers, Chopper and high crit for rocks, and BB-8 for chips. Higher stars give more chips and credits, but the droid is a weighted random roll (Default SA-5s from 4 stars, Mythics from 1); the Default TDA is rarest.
For fishing chips, bring DJ R-3X plus BB-8 (up to 6k for Stellar scrap); C-3PO no longer doubles it. v1.35.1 made 4 stars easier, lengthened the quick-time timer, and made dark Scourge Scrap (a third to half of catches) worth the most points. Scourge (19 Oct) also adds Scourge KX droids to Defend and Scourge rocks; its use is unannounced.
What do Protocol droids (and their stations) do, and where should I put them?
They boost an area's credits or a bench's crafting speed from a Protocol station, or your credit multiplier as a companion. v1.30 (12 Sept) added SA-5 (Rare), LOM (Epic), PZ (Legendary) and TDA (Mythic); C-3PO became one too. Upgrade Chips work on them.
You get up to 6 stations, two per area, bought with credits in order and unlocked by rebirth level. Next to work slots, a station multiplies that area's credits (the yellow number, e.g. x1.48). Behind a bench, it adds crafting speed (+N s per second). If a boosted droid lacks the swirl icon, send the protocol droid to the lounge and back.
As a companion it adds 400% (Default SA-5) up to 2,200% (Stellar TDA) to your multiplier (1,200% = +12x), boosting scrap, missions and offline earnings. When you're not crafting, keep two as companions while scrapping and before logging off.
C-3PO on a station gives x3 credits or +40 s/s crafting (good on a long build's bench). Many put him in the astromech area with R2-D2 and the other Iconics, but two players saw income fall, so compare your base total.
What are Kyber droids, and how do activation and the colours work?
Kyber (v1.32, 26 Sept) is the top variant, above Stellar. Get one from the belt, upgrade a Stellar (~30k chips for a Mythic), or fuse three Stellars. Three identical give that droid in Kyber; three of one rarity give a random Kyber of the next rarity (three Stellar Mythics give a random Kyber Mythic). Kyber Mythics craft for 50-100+ hours, so use boosts, C-3PO on the bench and D-O for fusions.
A new Kyber is inactive (white) and earns only ~10% over Stellar. Activate it at Huyang (basement under the pickaxe room) or the Huyang Hologram perk for 1/2/4/7/10 Kyber Crystals (Common to Mythic). It rolls Green 50%, Blue 30% or Purple 20%, roughly 3.0x, 3.25x and 3.6x the inactive rate. Each colour is its own Droidex entry.
Three same-droid Kybers of one colour step it up (3 Green → Blue, 3 Blue → Purple), the only sure route. Mixed colours average and round down (inactive 0, Green 1, Blue 2, Purple 3): 2 Purple + 1 inactive gives Blue; a few players got the lowest colour instead. Fused inactive Kybers can still be activated. For many Purples, grab every Kyber Rare and Epic off the belt and fuse them.
RB36-40 need Kybers. If an activated droid won't count, rejoin or switch lobby (v1.32.2 fixed one such bug).
Can I still get Protocol droids after the event or after a Super Rebirth, and can I fuse them?
Yes. World Missions and Protocol droids are permanent; only the event's 2x bonuses and faster timer ended. World Mission crates are the only source (none from belt, astromech missions, dailies, or since v1.33.0 Cantina quests; nothing new through v1.34.0).
You lose them on Super Rebirth, so re-earn them each run; C-3PO (1M) can fill the first station. Upgrade with chips (~200k for a TDA from Default to Stellar) or fuse three identical ones (same droid and variant). Fusing mixed protocols gives a random normal droid (such as a Gunrunner or Stellar IG), never a protocol.
How do I get Kyber Crystals, and do they reset on Super Rebirth?
From World Mission crates (~5 per star, so ~15 for 3 stars) and Cantina requests (1-3 each; one list says 1/2/3/4 for Common to Legendary; fusion requests pay more). The Kyber launch event also gave 3 per 5 Kyber crafts and pass rewards (limit raised in v1.32.3).
Yes, they reset on Super Rebirth, so spend them first; lightsabers stay. They're separate from Nova Crystals and only activate Kybers. v1.33.0's Kyber Droid Sell perk refunds crystals for activated Kybers, and Huyang Hologram activates Kybers in your base.
How do I unlock lightsabers, and what are they good for?
Activate 20 different Kyber droids in a colour (green, blue or purple) to unlock that lightsaber at the Kyber Workshop wall. Repeat activations of one droid don't count. Unlocked sabers stay, reportedly through Super Rebirth too.
They're combat only: no scrap or crafting boost, and guns hit harder. They block shots and suit the Defend World Mission. Treat them as collectibles; three empty wall slots may be for more colours.
Do the Kyber Droid Sell and Huyang Hologram Nova perks work on inactive Kybers or droids anywhere in my base?
Kyber Droid Sell pays only for activated Kybers, and Huyang Hologram activates only your companion, not droids in slots. Both arrived in v1.33.0 (3 Oct).
Kyber Droid Sell (1,000 crystals) refunds 1 (Common) to 5 (Mythic) Kyber Crystals per activated Kyber. Activation costs 1-10, so it's a partial refund, best for spare purple Mythics you can't fuse.
Huyang Hologram (1,500 crystals) puts Huyang between the left flight-deck stairs and the fusion area. Most players call both poor value: buy Scrap Value, crit or storage first.

How do I stop people killing me and stealing my blueprints?
Use Blueprint Storage, the only safe place. Anything lying around, even in your base, can be taken, and fighting over blueprints is intended.
Keep a bench free and throw fresh blueprints onto it. Store or hide the rest (the lounge banner, under the stairs). Equip IG-11 Marshal when buying, and activate your jetpack to stop a force pull. If someone hunts you, change lobby or go private.
Being killed in your own base was once called a bug, but it still happens, and spawn protection, including the immunity before you collect offline earnings, seems gone or bugged for some. Store high-value blueprints during Epic server issues.
PvP stays; the elimination counter was reportedly removed so players don't dodge lobbies. Block or report harassers through Epic's tools; the developers can't act. A reputation system is on the roadmap.
Do blueprints I leave on the ground stay when I log off?
No. Floor blueprints have no timer, but you 'own' the ones you last picked up, and past 20 the oldest vanishes.
A blueprint also disappears when its owner leaves, the server restarts, or you Super Rebirth; a normal rebirth is fine. Restarts have no fixed schedule (private lobbies roughly every 2 hours or more). Epic server problems have also kicked players and rolled back about 5 minutes.
So put valuable blueprints on a bench, in Blueprint Storage (survives logging off, not SRB), or with a friend. A blueprint that seems to fall through the floor is an Epic carry/jetpack bug: you're often still holding it, and unequipping the jetpack helps.
Should I play in a public or private lobby?
Play public, or private with friends, for timers and help; go private for peace. The Mythic, Galactic and Stellar timers drop one blueprint per player in the lobby: up to 6 in a full lobby, 1 solo. Random spawns happen either way.
Events change this. The Chopper Mega Crate gave fewer blueprints solo. The Tuesday Dance Party spawn runs 10 seconds per player (60 s full); players disagree on whether solo still gets the full minute.
Public lobbies bring blueprint sharing, pickaxe help and scrap-station swaps, plus occasional griefers (worse during events). Leave if someone starts killing. Since v1.33.0, queueing as a party gives party bonuses.
Can I trade or give droids to other players?
No. There's no trade menu, and built droids can't be given away. Instead, drop a blueprint in a shared lobby for the other player to buy, or hold it in Blueprint Storage until you meet. You get no credits when they buy it. Find partners in the subreddit's pinned trade megathread or the official Discord.
Why do people hit my scrap station, and how do party bonuses work?
Trading hits pays you both. A hitter earns credits from their own Scrap Value, and the owner gets about what they'd earn hitting it themselves. Hit each other's stations and both pay you, roughly doubling your rate.
High-level players like new players' stations: without the Blueprint Scrap perk no blueprints pop into their hands, so they can AFK. The downside is that hits level up your station, so it takes more hits to break.
Party bonuses (v1.33.0) apply when you queue as a party: +20% Upgrade Chips per other member (max +100%, every source), +50% credits for hitting a member's scrap station, and +20% pickaxe bonus per other member on the same build. The count shows under your health bar; many players party with their own second accounts.
Where are the new Blueprint Storage slots, and how many can I have?
v1.34.0 added 6 Blueprint Storage slots to the Nova Shop, for 9 in total. They cost 250, 350, 500, 650, 800 and 1,000 crystals.
The first three are by the lounge entrance. Slots 4-6 are at the top of the right-hand stairs to the Astromech section. Slots 7-9 are on the left of the Battle section, by its protocol station and crafting bench, so you can throw blueprints in from the front.
Storage protects blueprints from thieves, disconnects and server restarts, but not a Super Rebirth. To keep one through an SRB, give it to a friend or second account.
How do I finish the 'eliminate players' daily quest without fighting anyone?
Respawn yourself: it counts as an elimination and a death. Use Respawn in the social/party menu; the creative-map respawn doesn't count.
For some players, leaving to the lobby also counted. Otherwise ask in chat; plenty of players volunteer.
Events and more
What do the V-Buck Cantina Shop packs, boosts and surges do?
The Cantina Shop sells packs, event passes and boost tokens for V-Bucks. Packs are one-time buys, and items you already own are refunded as crystals. You can't gift anything.
An event pass (from the D-O event on) adds bonuses such as extra multipliers and pass rewards. It covers only that one event and its rerun. It doesn't carry over to other events, and passes don't stack. 'Inactive' means you don't own it. Players called the Kyber pass poor value once its few levels are done.
For Gonk-O-Ween, the 300 V-Buck weekend pass doubles event progress and adds +0.5x to event boosts, for that weekend event and its reruns only. The 800 V-Buck Gonk-O-Ween pack lasts the month and doubles Treats (players say including Treats you already collected). It also adds a DJ R-3X costume and the Ghoulish Gonk paint.
The Starter Pack's 200% credit boost adds +2.0x to your multiplier. The Companion pack adds the heart effect. Opinions on paying are split, but the Double Companion pack is most often called good value. The VIP pack is nice for new players, but you can earn everything in it.
Boost tokens (Crafting Boost, Luck Boost, Surges) work any time from the Cantina Shop or a Jawa vendor. Boosts last 15 minutes for the whole lobby. v1.31 raised their crystal prices about 5x, so don't buy them with crystals or V-Bucks; use the ones events and missions give you. The Crafting Boost (2x crafting for 15 minutes) is the most useful. The Luck Boost showed no visible difference for several players.
A Surge sends pulses down the belt that may turn blueprints into that variant. Each blueprint rolls on its own, so clear the belt except for the blueprint you want turned; fewer commons means fewer wasted pulses. Pop a Stellar or Galactic Surge right before the Mythic timer.
When do events happen and how long do they last?
Event times are posted in the official Discord #events channel and pinned on the subreddit, and the game shows a countdown to the next event. Weekend events normally run 24 hours from about 1pm PT / 4pm ET on Saturday. New events usually get a rerun the following weekend.
After the 2026-10-12 notice, weekend events ran 12 hours each day. v1.35.1 (19 Oct) set them back to the default 24 hours from 4pm ET / 1pm PT.
Two weekly mini events run in two 3-hour windows (10am-1pm and 8-11pm ET): the Tuesday DJ R-3X Dance Party and the Thursday Mega Crate event. The Dance Party works in private lobbies too, but its length scales with the number of players, so solo it lasts only seconds.
Gonk-O-Ween runs 3 Oct – 1 Nov with four weekend events, including the WG-22 Iconic weekend on 10-11 Oct. The next event was teased on 11 Oct for late October. Earlier events: D-O rerun 5-6 Sept, Protocol Droid event 12-13 Sept (extended by 11 hours after a bug) with a rerun 19-20 Sept, and the Kyber variant launch 26-27 Sept (no rerun as of October).
Where did the base paint station go, and how do the Galactic/Beskar base paints unlock?
The Base Paint Station is in the Lounge (it moved there in v1.27). Interact with the mini model of your base on the table. New paints appear there too.
Variant paints such as Super Galactic or Stellar count unique droids of that variant you have crafted (Droidex entries), not copies. If a counter doesn't move, rejoin the game. Kyber colour paints need about 60 unique droids of a colour, players say. There are two Protocol paints: one for collecting Protocol droids (players mention 28) and one for 500 World Missions, which adds spinning globes in front of your base (one player says). You can earn both after the event ends. Event, ring-course and Flawless paints unlock separately. A display bug sometimes turns base floors green.
For Gonk-O-Ween, the Pumpkin paint was a Pumpkin Smash reward at 125 points. The Ghoulish Gonk paint costs 160 Treats in the Event Shop. It is a base paint that puts a Gonk statue in front of your base, not a droid aura.
Since v1.35.0 the Workshop Paint menu shows your collection as a list, so you don't swipe through paints one by one. Click a paint in the list to see its preview.
Why did I stop getting Fortnite battle pass XP in Droid Tycoon?
You most likely hit Fortnite's weekly XP limit for Creator/UEFN islands. It resets weekly on a day that follows the current season's start (Thursday this season). The Droid Tycoon devs can't change it.
Right after an update, a map can also earn no battle pass XP for a while until Epic re-calibrates it. Reports range from 5-20 minutes to a few hours.
Until you hit the cap, the mode gives good XP. Daily quests, crafting, selling and collecting all count, and mixing activities helps. In-game Droidsmith XP is separate.
How do Mega Crates work (Chopper event and the Thursday Mega Crate event)?
On Thursdays, a Mega Crate drops every 15 minutes during two 3-hour windows (10am-1pm and 8-11pm ET). Stand by it and hit it. The window also gives 2x Upgrade Chips, so it's a good time to sell droids with BB-8. This weekly mini event started in v1.28. Lobby-hopping for extra crates no longer works. Since v1.33.1 the crates also drop Gonk-O-Ween Treats.
Mega Crates first came with the Chopper event (1-2 Aug, rerun 8-9 Aug). You broke junk crates and threw the junk at Chopper's pad to trigger variant surges. A Mega Crate with blueprints, chips and a couple of crystals dropped every 30 minutes; v1.24.1 fixed it to spawn at XX:00 and XX:30.
On 15 Oct a Fortnite update broke Mega Crate (pumpkin) blueprints: one you put back on the ground snapped back to the crate and couldn't be picked up. v1.34.1 fixed it the same day. Until then, the workaround was to throw them straight onto an empty crafting table or blueprint slot.
How do the Gonk-O-Ween weekend events work (Pumpkin Smash, WG-22 Gonk Army)?
Gonk-O-Ween lasts the whole month (Treats, trick-or-treating, Event Shop), and each Saturday-Sunday adds a separate weekend event. The countdown under the event is for the weekend event.
Pumpkin Smash (3-4 Oct): smash the pumpkins the Sandcrawler throws out and turn them in at the event stage. Galactic pumpkins give 1 point, Stellar 2 and Kyber 3, doubled with the event pass. A mega pumpkin came about every 30 minutes. Rewards: 50 points Chopper, 75 Chopper's costume, 100 = 60 Treats, 125 Pumpkin base paint, 150 Crafting Boost token, then 3 Nova Crystals per 50 points. Boosts were 2x credits, chips and Flawless.
WG-22 Iconic Gonk weekend (10-11 Oct): craft any Gonk, carry it as a companion to WG-22 near the Cantina and turn it in. The seven new Gonk droids (KT, MPH, JO9-4MN, ECG, EG-58, EGL, PLNK) count. Higher rarity and variant give more points. About 200 points unlock WG-22 (15% income, 2x Flawless as companion). Later milestones give 20 Treats and Crafting Boost tokens, then 3 Nova Crystals each; players disagree on how many Treat milestones there are. Turn-ins also build the Gonk Army, which triggers a Sandcrawler Variant Boost (mostly low-rarity results). Boosts are 2x credits, pickaxe and crafting speed. DJ R-3X's 2x applies only to World Missions, not to event points.
The 17-18 Oct weekend was the WG-22 rerun (v1.35.0), at 12 hours each day. v1.35.0 also restored normal conveyor spawn rates during the Gonk Army Conveyor Boost, and lets you turn in Gonks and Power Droids from lounge slots. v1.34.0 stopped the event cutscene replaying. v1.35.1 (19 Oct) set the event back to the default 24 hours from 4pm ET / 1pm PT.
How do I get Gonk-O-Ween Treats (candy), and what can I buy with them?
Trick-or-treat for up to 20 Treats a day during Gonk-O-Ween (3 Oct – 1 Nov). Trick-or-treat at the booths in front of 5 different players' bases (2 Treats each). Then visit 5 occupied Jawa huts around the edge of the map and near the World Mission areas. Only huts with the treat icon above them are active; since v1.34.0 player and world stations have different icons. When a counter is full, interact with a booth again to see when it resets. Players disagree: most say it follows the daily reset, one says about 22 hours after your first collection.
Extra Treats come from weekend events: Pumpkin Smash gave 60 at 100 points, and the WG-22 weekend had 20-Treat milestones. Since v1.33.1, breaking the Thursday Mega Crate also drops Treats. The 800 V-Buck Gonk-O-Ween pack doubles Treats (players say it also doubled what they already had). The 300 V-Buck weekend pass only doubles event progress.
Spend Treats at the Event Shop next to the event stage. It sells Iconic costumes (C-3PO, R2-D2, BB-8, CB-23, IG-11 Marshal, Mister Bones), and each also unlocks that Iconic if you don't own it. It also sells the Ghoulish Gonk base paint (160 Treats), Bat/Witch/Candy Corn hats and Ghostly/Bat droid auras. The official listing bundles a DJ R-3X costume with the paint, but players say that costume comes only with the 800 V-Buck pack. Everything together costs about 860 Treats.
There's no rush: Treats survive a Super Rebirth, and you can spend leftovers until 7 Nov.
How many Nova Crystals can I earn from an event?
Each event has its own cap, posted in the Discord #events channel. Variant events such as Stellar (15 Aug) gave 3 crystals for every 10 event droids crafted, up to 120. The Chopper event capped at 200 per weekend run (400 over both), plus the crystals from Mega Crates. Companions such as DJ R-3X or CB-23 don't raise the cap. For the Fusion weekend the cap was unclear; one player passed 120.
If you can only play a little, event weekends are still one of the best crystal sources after SRB.
What is the lounge for, and how do I get more slots?
The lounge stores droids that aren't working. Keep droids you need for future rebirths, plan to upgrade or fuse, or like, plus high-chip droids to sell during a 2x event with BB-8. An empty lounge is fine.
You get more slots from rebirth rewards 17-20 (added in v1.15) and from the Nova Shop; Nova Shop slots stay through SRB. v1.35.0 (17 Oct) added 8 new lounge slots, but the patch note doesn't say how they unlock. v1.25 briefly lost a slot and v1.25.1 restored it. v1.27 moved the Base Paint Station into the first lounge room, which rearranged the slots without removing any.
Fusion machine input slots also hold droids safely, so you can use them as extra storage. Since v1.35.0 you can turn in Gonks and Power Droids from lounge slots at events.
Do I keep event Treats (and event droids or costumes) when I Super Rebirth?
Yes. A Super Rebirth doesn't reset Treats, so you don't need to spend them first. Things you bought with Treats (costumes, hats, paints, auras) are cosmetics and stay too.
Event blueprints on the ground that you haven't bought aren't yours yet, so the SRB doesn't touch them. Droids you bought before the SRB are gone, like every droid. Kyber Crystals, credits and chips still reset.
An Iconic you unlocked through the event (Halloween Chopper, or one unlocked by buying its costume) comes back like any owned Iconic: reclaim it for 1M credits at the Iconic vendor. The reclaim gives the normal version, so re-apply the costume from the droid's Customize menu.
Does buying an Iconic's Gonk-O-Ween costume unlock the Iconic, and can I still get Chopper's costume?
Yes. Buying an Iconic costume in the Gonk-O-Ween Event Shop (C-3PO, R2-D2, BB-8, CB-23, IG-11 Marshal, Mister Bones) also unlocks that Iconic permanently if you don't own it. That saves the 100-250 Nova Crystals it would cost; CB-23 alone costs 250. A Discord moderator reportedly called this intentional.
Have a free companion slot when you buy. If both slots are full, the droid may not appear; claim it afterwards at the Iconic vendor (next to the rebirth shop) for 1M credits, where it shows as owned. If you had already bought the Iconic, nobody has reported a Nova Crystal refund. Two players got nothing at all (one says a friend also lost the Treats), with no explanation.
Costumes are full skins: change or remove them in the droid's Customize menu. Hats can't go over a costume, and owning the Witch Hat doesn't discount CB-23's witch costume (they are separate items).
You can't buy Chopper's costume now. It (and Chopper himself, for non-owners) was a Pumpkin Smash reward on 3-4 Oct, not a shop item, and no rerun has been announced. The Ghoulish Gonk item is a base paint (a Gonk statue at your base), not the Ghostly Aura, which is a separate droid effect.
Where is the hat shop, and do hats carry over?
The Hat Shop is next to the Cantina; v1.20 added it. It rotates and sells droid hats for credits. Hats are cosmetic, bought once, usable on any number of droids, and kept after Super Rebirth.
Many players use hats as labels, such as a traffic cone for 'needed for a later rebirth' or a crown for companions. Super Crates also award hat variants until you own them all. Gonk-O-Ween adds Bat, Witch and Candy Corn hats to the Event Shop for Treats. A droid wearing a costume can't wear a hat.
How do I get the Ringmaster base paints from the ring courses?
Fly through every ring of a jetpack ring course in order, within the time limit. The yellow/blue course and the orange course each unlock a Ringmaster paint. Both sit at the map's edge and start where a jetpack always spawns. You get only a few seconds between rings; each ring lights up blue.
Tips: hover and boost only near a ring, and turn boost off just before tight rings. On console, lower your look sensitivity. Switch to a weapon to slow down for tight turns. Land and jump through low rings, and don't fly back through a blue ring. Plenty of console players finished both after practice.
What are the yellow triangles/arrows over some blueprints?
They are tutorial markers. They appear when someone new in your lobby is doing the tutorial. A developer said a bug also made them show at random. One player thinks an arrow marks a droid someone needs for a rebirth, but nobody has confirmed that.
Can I turn off the green Halloween fog? I can barely see the belt or blueprints.
No, there's no in-game toggle. The green haze is part of Gonk-O-Ween and should last until the event ends on 1 Nov.
On PC, set Effects to Low or switch the rendering mode to Performance to remove most of it. DirectX 12 was densest for one player. On console you can't change those settings; raising brightness or trying colourblind modes helps a little. The haze is much heavier on some devices than others.
In the haze, Gold and Stellar blueprints look alike, so read the blueprint name before you buy.
Can I play my Droid Tycoon progress on mobile or another platform?
Yes. Progress is tied to your Epic account, so link your console account and log in on PC, phone or tablet to continue.
Players use mobile to collect credits, run missions and even do events while away. Private lobbies and a Bluetooth controller help. Phones can get hot, and some show droids without textures. On Switch, frame rates are poor, especially in public lobbies; private lobbies are playable.
v1.30 added a mobile HUD, and v1.34.1 added custom touch icons for mobile. If your hotbar is missing on mobile, check the HUD settings. Two mobile players reported a missing backpack button right after v1.34.1.
I earned a Crafting Boost token – how do I use it?
Activate it at the Jawa vendor by the Sandcrawler or in the Cantina Shop: open the tokens tab and pick the token you own. Earned tokens (Crafting Boost, Lucky Boost, Surges) don't go into your inventory. You aren't charged again.
The menu shows a V-Buck price, but if you own a token, activating it uses the token. Any V-Buck purchase has its own hold-to-confirm step.
A Crafting Boost speeds up crafting benches for everyone in the lobby. Most players say it gives 2x crafting speed for 15 minutes; one earlier guess said about 5 minutes. Use it when all your benches are busy with long droids. One player says it speeds up the fusion tanks too.
Why is there a copy of my character standing on the ridge behind the event area?
It's the stand-in character for the Super Rebirth cutscene, where you wave goodbye to your droids. It has been visible since Super Rebirth was added. It's harmless, and it's there even if you have never Super Rebirthed.
Players disagree on whose look it copies: most say everyone sees themselves, others say it's the last lobby player to SRB or a random player in the lobby.
Tips
AFK on a station without the Blueprint Scrap perk
If you own Blueprint Scrap, AFK on a newer player's scrap station. On your own, blueprints pop into your hands and stop your AFK pickaxing. On theirs, you still earn your Scrap Value credits, and they get paid too. Watch out: the owner may think you're stealing and attack you.
Equip BB-8 before selling droids or collecting chips
Equip BB-8 before you sell. He doubles Upgrade Chips from every source, including selling crafted droids.
The conveyor releases droids in a fixed order
The Sandcrawler belt cycles worker, battle, then astromech droids. So you know which type comes next.
Put C-3PO on a Protocol station
Since v1.30, C-3PO can sit on a Protocol station. Next to an area, he triples its credits; players put him with their Iconics, often by R2-D2 in the astromech area. Behind a crafting bench, he adds +40 s/s, so move him there for a long build, then back.
Use Cantina droid requests for credits
Cantina droid requests pay well: v1.13 raised their credits and removed the cooldown. Keep a few cheap, often-requested epics on the floor to hand in fast. Got two hard requests? Change lobby. Since v1.29, a request pays 5x if it asks for a Fusion droid.
Hit the highest-level player's scrap station for chips
Hit the highest-rebirth player's scrap station with BB-8 equipped. Your chips depend on the owner's Upgrade Chip Scrap level: a maxed station gives 60 chips per drop, 120 with BB-8. Offer to return the favour. In rough lobbies, bring IG-11 or expect competition.
On PlayStation, press the capture/share button while swinging to keep hitting
On PlayStation, hold the hit trigger on a bench or scrap station, then press Share/Create (or PS). You keep swinging while the menu is open, and Sandcrawler alerts still show. Fortnite still idles you out eventually.
On Xbox, start swinging, press the Xbox button, then B to go back; the swing continues. One player says unplugging the controller mid-swing also works.
Spend Gonk-O-Ween Treats on costumes for Iconics you don't own
Buy costumes for Iconics you don't own first. Each Iconic costume also unlocks that Iconic, saving you 100-250 Nova Crystals.
Watch out for crash pads when carrying a blueprint
A crash or bounce pad makes you drop the blueprint you're holding, and some players use this to steal. Hover with your jetpack near the belt, where pads can't touch you, and get blueprints onto a bench fast. v1.21.0 swapped the Crash Pad for the smaller Crash Pad Jr.
Forgot D-O? Equip him and hit the fusion tank once
Equip D-O and hit the fusion tank once. The fusion inside is halved and stays halved after you unequip him.
Your D-O can halve other players' fusions too
With D-O equipped, hit a friend's fusion tank once to halve their fusion too; one player finished a ~14-hour fusion this way. One player says a second D-O doesn't halve it again.
Run world crates and world missions with BB-8 + DJ R-3X
Take BB-8 and DJ R-3X to world crates and world-mission crates for 3x chips. DJ doubles the crate, and BB-8 doubles the chips. The pop-up may say 2x, but players who counted got 3x.
Equip DJ R-3X for World Missions
Equip DJ R-3X for World Missions: he doubles your points, which gets a lobby to 3-4 star crates. Remind the lobby a minute or two before. Pair him with Mister Bones (combat), Chopper (rocks) or BB-8 (chips).
Don't fuse mixed Protocol droids hoping for a better one
Three mixed Protocol droids (or three Stellar ones of one rarity) fuse into a random normal droid of the next rarity, not a Protocol. Only three identical ones (same droid and variant) give that Protocol one variant up. Otherwise, upgrade them with chips.
Fill Droidex entries before you Super Rebirth
SRB wipes chips, so spend them first. Sell spare droids with BB-8, then upgrade droids missing from your Droidex (e.g. commons and rares to Galactic). Keep one Rainbow Legendary so you can still SRB.
Change the fishing prompt keys by rebinding Menu Navigation
You can change the keys the fishing mission asks for. Open the menu, go to Keyboard Controls and scroll to the Menu Navigation group. Its four tab keys (next tab, previous tab and so on) are the same keys fishing uses. Rebind them, for example to 1, 2, 3 and 4, and the fishing prompts change to match.
Other actions on those keys move too: one player's droid-swap key changed from Q to 2. Nobody has tested this on a controller.
Have a friend hold a blueprint through your Super Rebirth
SRB wipes Blueprint Storage, but a blueprint survives while its holder stays in the lobby. Have a friend (or your second account) buy or hold one, then drop it back once you've SRB'd and can afford it.
Use the fusion slots as extra storage
Droids in the fusion machine's three input slots stay there when you log off, so use them as extra lounge space. One player lost droids there on launch day, so don't park ones you can't replace.
Fuse different Galactic droids, not identical ones, when you want Mythics
Three different Galactic Legendaries make a random Galactic Mythic. Three Galactic Mythics make a random Stellar Mythic. Three identical Galactic Legendaries only give that Legendary in Stellar. Any three Mythics work, so burn your lowest earners.
Grab Gold Splash before long pickaxe sessions
Gold Splash from the Weapon Wall (since v1.17) makes you swing much faster. Grab it to speed up long crafts.
Mark droids you need for future rebirths
Put a hat (e.g. the cone) on every droid a rebirth list says to keep, so you never sell it. Some players use one hat for 'keep' and another for 'needed for rebirth'.
You can hide the VIP badge
Interact with your hologram in front of your base to toggle the VIP badge off (since v1.23.1). If it doesn't respond, rejoin, for example into a private lobby.
Hit a friend's scrap station while they hit yours
Hitting another player's scrap station pays you both, plus chips or blueprints if they own those perks. So swapping stations with a friend roughly doubles your scrap income. Since v1.33.0, party members get +50% credits for hitting each other's stations.
Roll Traits on Iconics, not on regular droids
Only Iconics keep their Trait through a Super Rebirth (and through Return and re-buy). A normal droid's Trait is lost with it at SRB. So spend trait crystals on Iconics you always use.
Traits (v1.35.0) are random. An Iconic roll costs 200 Nova Crystals; since v1.35.1 (19 Oct), non-Iconic rolls cost Credits. A new roll replaces the old trait, so stop when you like one.
Players who SRB'd since traits came out say even ordinary traits stayed on their Iconics. One player disagrees, and a few unconfirmed reports say Iconic traits were lost.
Carry a jetpack into Super Rebirth
Players found that equipped items carry over through SRB. Keep a jetpack equipped to get around your new base faster. Lost it? Jetpacks spawn at the start of the ring course.
Activate your jetpack to stop a force pull
Double-tap jump to activate your jetpack. Players report it stops a force pull at once.
Fuse three same-colour Kybers to step up the colour
Three activated Kybers of the same droid and colour fuse into that droid one colour up (Green → Blue → Purple). It's a sure way to a Purple. Don't add an inactive one: mixed colours average and round down.
Buying Pickaxe Mastery levels also raises your current pickaxe
Buying Pickaxe Mastery to a level sets your current pickaxe to that level at once. Late in a run, this can replace very costly credit upgrades.
Keep a crafting bench free while you shop
Keep one crafting station empty while you run missions, do quests or watch the belt. A new blueprint then goes straight onto it, not onto the floor where it can be stolen or lost.
Queue up as a party for chip and scrap bonuses
Since v1.33.0, each other party member gives you +20% Upgrade Chips (max +100%). You also get +50% credits on a party member's scrap station and +20% pickaxe on a shared build. A second account counts too.
Keep two spare Protocol droids as companions when scrapping or logging off
A Protocol droid's companion perk adds its % to your credit multiplier (e.g. 2,000% = +20x). Equip your two best spares when you scrap, open astromech crates or log off; players saw their scrap hits and offline earnings jump. Don't take them off a Protocol station for this.
Don't rush to open Protocol crates in a rough lobby
World Mission crates stay in your base through lobby changes and server resets, and they stack. If someone is griefing, open them later or in a private lobby. Or hover with your jetpack while you open them, so you can't be pulled out.
Send R2-D2 on astromech missions himself
Since v1.23.2, R2-D2 gives 2 reward crates for missions he flies. Keep him in a mission slot, ideally your best mission, not as a companion.
'Eliminate players' daily in a private lobby
Respawn yourself with the social menu's Respawn option, or leave and rejoin a private lobby. Each counts for both 'Eliminate players' and 'Be eliminated by a player', so you never have to fight. The creative-map respawn doesn't count.
Drop your items first if you don't want to lose them. Since v1.18, the eliminate quest needs 3, not 5.
Return Iconics temporarily to free base slots
Since v1.24, you can Return an unused Iconic to the Iconic vendor to free a slot. That helps when you juggle fusion ingredients or rebirth droids. Rebuy it later for 1M credits. Its Trait survives the Return (v1.35.0).
Fly the ring course for a free base paint
Jetpack through the ring course near the outpost to unlock a base paint. Don't fly back through a ring once it turns blue, and you don't need to boost the whole way. A second, orange course came in late June.
Right after a Super Rebirth, hit another player's scrap station
A fresh base's scrap station pays about 20 credits a hit. A higher-level player's pays around 1-2k early on. Use theirs until your base earns.
Put Nova Crystals into Scrap Value, not the Credits perk
Each Credits level adds only +0.2x, to a multiplier that SRBs, Flawless and Droidex collections raise far more. Each Scrap Value level pays 0.5 s of your whole income per hit.
Stockpile high-chip droids and sell them during 2x-chip events
Park high-chip droids, like Diamond/Rainbow/Beskar Mythics, in your lounge. Sell them in a 2x-chip event with BB-8 equipped for 4x chips.
Spend spare credits before you rebirth
Your wallet resets on rebirth, so spend extra credits on pickaxe upgrades first. Don't collect more from your droids than you need: players say uncollected credits at your stations survive the rebirth.
Spend your Kyber Crystals before you Super Rebirth
Kyber Crystals reset on SRB (Nova Crystals don't). Activate the Kyber droids you still need for the Droidex or lightsabers first.
In surge-item events, stockpile high-variant items and throw them in when a Mythic appears
When turning in items surges the belt (Pumpkin Smash), keep Stellar and Kyber items by the turn-in point. Wait for the Mythic you want on the Sandcrawler, then throw them all in fast. Best in a private lobby with friends.
Time a Galactic Surge with Mythic spawns
Some players fire a Galactic Surge as the Mythic timer drops, after clearing low-tier blueprints off the belt, hoping for a Galactic Mythic. Results vary and several saw no upgrade, so treat it as a gamble.
Throw blueprints straight onto a free crafting bench
Throw a blueprint onto a free crafting table instead of carrying it. It's faster and harder to knock out of your hands. If it misses and doesn't hit the floor, it comes back to you, which helps you swap fast.
Finish your Nova Shop upgrades before gambling crystals on Traits
Buy permanent Nova Shop upgrades first (crit chance/damage, Scrap Value, lounge slots), and treat Iconic traits as an endgame crystal sink. Most players agree.
Each Iconic roll costs 200 Nova Crystals, is random, and replaces the last. Several players got weak results, like +health or crit chance on a chip droid; two spent 4,000 and 8,000 crystals for little. A few say one strong roll, like +100% Upgrade Chips for crafting on BB-8, was worth it. If you roll, set a budget.
Since v1.35.1, normal-droid rolls cost Credits instead; see the '+% Upgrade Chips' tip.
Equip two worker droids before logging off
Worker companions' crafting speed keeps working offline, and two add up. Equip your two best +crafting-speed workers before you log off with long builds running. They don't speed up the fusion tank.
Roll a '+% Upgrade Chips' trait on a cheap droid and pair it with BB-8
Re-roll a cheap droid for the '+% Upgrade Chips' trait and pair it with BB-8. Since v1.35.1 (19 Oct), non-Iconic trait rolls cost Credits, not Nova Crystals. Rolls on Iconics still cost Nova Crystals.
One player says a default Common costs a few thousand credits per roll and took about 20 rolls to hit +100%. Rolls may range from 20% to 100%.
The trait stacks with BB-8's 2x. At +100% with BB-8, chips come out about 4x: 1,000 waiting at the Upgrade Chip Station collect as 4,000. One player with a 4.8K station pulls over 20K per claim this way. With a 60% roll, 4.8K became about 7.7K before BB-8 doubled it.
Players disagree on two trait droids plus BB-8. One player says they tested it and got 8x. Another works it out as 4x or 6x, depending on which bonus applies first.
Where the trait droid must sit is unclear. Most pair it with BB-8 as companions, which needs the 2nd Companion perk. One kept it in the lounge beside BB-8, and one says it doesn't work on their companion. A maxed chip sell perk also adds chips from crafted droids.
Normal-droid traits are lost at SRB, so expect to re-roll after each one.
Nova perks
Blueprint Scrap: what does it do, and is it worth it?
Your scrap station can drop a blueprint into your hands. Each level raises the variant it drops; level 4 gives Rainbow.
v1.32.0 added a level that gives Beskar, Legendary at most. Players quote 400 crystals for it. Since v1.23.2, if someone else breaks the blueprint, it goes to the base owner.
Yes, buy at least one level: you need it to unlock Scrap Value. Further levels are optional. You can't turn it off, and the standing spot that avoided it is patched. Players disagree on the Beskar level: some find it useful for fusing into Mythics, others skip it.
Blueprint Storage (offline storage slot): what does it do, and is it worth it?
Holders keep a blueprint when you leave the lobby, but not through an SRB. You have 9 slots in total.
Three original slots sit by the lounge entrance. v1.34.0 added six more, at the top of the Astromech stairs and the left of the Battle section. Tracker sites list them at 250/350/500/650/800/1,000 crystals.
Yes, it's a must-have against theft, disconnects and server resets. Buy the third slot first. See the Blueprint Storage slots entry for the new slots.
Collect All buttons: what does it do, and is it worth it?
Buttons collect credits from a whole area at once: the firing range, the shipyard or your workers. The worker button costs the most; one player spent 100 crystals on it.
It's a convenience. It helps when you need credits fast for a belt spawn, but many players rank it well below Scrap Value.
Crafting Speed: what does it do, and is it worth it?
It makes crafting timers tick faster: +0.1 s per second per level, about +10% on the base rate per level. v1.21.0 doubled it, and since v1.23.2 it also works offline.
Mostly no; it is close to worthless now. Even a weak Protocol droid behind the bench or a worker companion does far more, and one buyer saw no difference. It only really helps builds you leave running while you're away.
Critical Strike Chance / Crit Amount: what does it do, and is it worth it?
It raises the chance and size of critical pickaxe hits on crafting droids. Chance starts at 1% and adds +5% per level. Chopper adds +50% to both as a companion.
Level 1 costs 60 crystals, and each level costs 30 more. Levels 1-10 cost about 1,950 in total.
Yes, after Scrap Value. Buy Chance to about 50% (100% with Chopper), then Amount, then Multi Crit. The V-Buck Crit Pack (v1.26) refunds levels you bought with crystals.
Daily Quest Crystals: what does it do, and is it worth it?
All three daily quests award a Nova Crystal. With Double Daily Quests you get 6 a day. It was added in v1.23.0.
Yes, it's a good passive crystal source, especially with Double Daily Quests. The V-Buck VIP pack gives the same effect.
Double Daily Quests: what does it do, and is it worth it?
After you finish your 3 dailies, you can re-open the board once a day for 3 more. That earns a second Nova Crystal. It costs 75 crystals.
Yes, if you play daily. On its own it takes about 75 days to pay back. Daily players call it a sure buy for the extra crystals and Stellar Legendaries to fuse, especially paired with Daily Quest Crystals.
Droidex Notification (+ higher-variant watch): what does it do, and is it worth it?
You track specific droids in the Droidex and get an alert when that blueprint is on the conveyor. It costs about 20 crystals per level, and each level tracks more droids. It was added in v1.29.
A v1.29.1 add-on perk also alerts for higher variants. Your tracked list now saves between sessions.
Yes; it's cheap and very useful for planning rebirths. Track the Epics and Mythics you'll need. Without the add-on, it alerts only for the exact variant you chose. Fusion droids never alert, because they have no blueprint.
Flawless Charm: what does it do, and is it worth it?
It doubles your Flawless chance and stacks with event 2x Flawless. It costs 500 crystals.
Buy it last. Most owners notice no clear difference. One player who wanted the 50-Flawless paint said it was worth it.
WG-22 also gives 2x Flawless as a companion. Whether the two stack is unconfirmed; one player says yes, taking Stellar from 1/50 to 1/25 to 1/12.5.
Fusion Tank / Fusion Speed: what does it do, and is it worth it?
Extra fusion tanks let you brew several fusions at once; the 2nd and 3rd cost 300 crystals each. Fusion Speed costs 10, 35, 60... crystals per level and shortens brew time. Each level adds 1 s per second, so level 1 halves brew time. Both came with Droid Fusion in v1.27.
Yes, a few Fusion Speed levels are well worth it. At 5 s per second, one player's 101-hour fusion took about 11 hours.
Extra tanks are for heavy fusers. Most players say buy the 2nd Companion before a 2nd tank.
Huyang Hologram: what does it do, and is it worth it?
It puts a Huyang hologram in your base, so you can activate Kyber droids without going to the Cantina basement. It only activates the droid you bring as a companion. It was added in v1.33.0; tracker sites list it at 1,500 crystals.
Mostly no. It works exactly like the basement Huyang, and most players say the price is too high for the seconds it saves.
Iconic Droids tab: what does it do, and is it worth it?
You unlock Iconic droids you missed with Nova Crystals. After each SRB, you reclaim owned Iconics for 1M credits.
Since v1.31 (17 Sept), BB-8, Mister Bones, IG-11, DJ R-3X, Chopper and D-O cost 100 crystals each. R2-D2 and C-3PO cost 200, and CB-23 costs 250. They used to cost 30/60/75.
Unlock BB-8 (2x chips) and Chopper (crit) first; they are the most recommended. DJ R-3X matters for World Missions, and C-3PO for protocol stations. Rebirth crystals since v1.30 make the higher prices easier to reach.
During Gonk-O-Ween, buying an Iconic's costume with Treats also unlocks it, which saves these crystals.
Jawa Bartering: what does it do, and is it worth it?
It gives a chance of extra credits and chips when you sell droids. One player reports a 25% chance of double at 5/5.
Players disagree on whether you notice it. A developer says it stacks with C-3PO's sell bonus, so a 100 base sale can reach 400.
Kyber Droid Sell: what does it do, and is it worth it?
Selling an activated Kyber droid returns Kyber Crystals: tracker sites list 1 for Common up to 5 for Mythic. Inactive Kybers return nothing. It was added in v1.33.0; tracker sites list it at 1,000 crystals.
Mostly no. Activation costs 1-10 crystals, so selling returns only part of it. It helps mainly with spare purple Mythics. See the Kyber Sell / Huyang entry.
Later Nova perks (Jul-Oct): what does it do, and is it worth it?
v1.22 added Critical Strike upgrades. v1.23.0 added Daily Quest Crystals, Upgrade Chip Station, Sandcrawler Luck Boost, Crafting Boost and Rainbow/Beskar/Galactic Surge. v1.25 added Multi Crit, and v1.26 the Sell Droid Credit and Upgrade Chip Multipliers.
v1.29 added Droidex Notification, and v1.29.1 its higher-variant add-on. v1.30.2 added more Pickaxe Mastery levels, and v1.32.0 the Blueprint Scrap Beskar level. v1.33.0 (3 Oct) added Kyber Droid Sell and Huyang Hologram. v1.34.0 (9 Oct) added 6 Blueprint Storage slots.
Upgrade Chip Station, 2nd Companion and Daily Quest Crystals rate highly; the crit perks are for late game. Multi Crit, the Sell Droid multipliers and the fusion perks have their own entries.
Lobby boost tokens (Luck Boost, Crafting Boost, Surges): what does it do, and is it worth it?
These are 15-minute lobby boosts you use up, bought with crystals or V-Bucks. v1.31 prices are about 5x the old ones: Luck Boost 200, Crafting Boost 150, and Rainbow/Beskar/Galactic/Stellar Surge 100/150/300/450 crystals. The Crafting Boost gives 2x for 15 minutes.
Mostly no; don't buy them after the v1.31 price rise. The Luck Boost shows no visible difference. The Crafting Boost is the useful one.
Use tokens you earn from events instead. Pop Stellar or Galactic Surges right before the Mythic timer, in a lobby with the belt cleared.
Movement Speed: what does it do, and is it worth it?
It increases your running speed only; it doesn't make you swing your pickaxe faster. One owner maxed it at 18 levels.
Players disagree. It's a cheap way to reach World Missions faster, and some call it a necessity on the bigger map. Others regret it.
You can't switch it off or refund it. One buyer found the speed uncomfortable; others say you get used to it.
Multi Crit: what does it do, and is it worth it?
When a critical hit lands, it rolls again at half your crit chance for a bigger hit. Higher levels add more rolls, each at half the previous chance. So crit chance above 100% keeps raising your x2-x4 odds: at 140%, about 70% x2 and 25% x3.
It unlocks after a few Crit Chance levels; v1.26 dropped the requirement from 8 to 4 levels. Level 1 costs about 400 crystals and level 2 about 800. It was added in v1.25.
Not yet, for most players. First get Crit Chance to about 50% (100% with Chopper) and some Crit Amount. Level 2 and up is for much later.
Pickaxe Mastery: what does it do, and is it worth it?
It raises the pickaxe level you start each run with after a Super Rebirth. Maxed, for about 1,000 crystals, you start at pickaxe 29. Buying levels also raises your current pickaxe right away. Pickaxe levels you buy with credits above it reset on SRB.
Yes; most players say max it right after Scrap Value, and a few call it optional. See the Pickaxe Mastery FAQ entry.
Droid Rebirth Notification: what does it do, and is it worth it?
A Jawa alert pops up when a droid you need for your next rebirth is on the conveyor. Since v1.16.1, it alerts for any variant.
Yes; it's one of the most recommended cheap perks. It may stop alerting once you own any variant of that droid.
Scrap Value: what does it do, and is it worth it?
Each scrap-station hit pays 0.5 s of your workshop's total income per level, so level 20 pays 10 s. Income includes station bonuses, protocol droids and your credit multiplier. It only pays while you're actively hitting.
It has no level cap. Costs rise 30 crystals per level: 25, 55, 85...
Yes; it's the top-rated first perk. Many players stop around level 10-12 and move to crit. Others run it at 10-25, and a few at 40 (about 37T per hit).
Claims of a cap at 10 or 18 are wrong. Each level adds the same 0.5 s, so the relative gain per level shrinks as you go.
2nd Companion: what does it do, and is it worth it?
You bring a second companion droid, and both perks apply. Two astromechs stack pickaxe levels. It costs 250 crystals on the Featured tab, and a V-Buck pack also includes it. It was added in v1.23.0; the menu was redesigned in v1.28.
Yes; owners call it one of the best unlocks. Pair Chopper with an astromech for crafting, BB-8 with DJ for crates, and DJ with Bones, Chopper or BB-8 for World Missions. One player says buy Chopper first.
Sell Droid Credit / Upgrade Chip Multipliers: what does it do, and is it worth it?
They boost what you get from selling crafted droids, not blueprints. Credits rise up to +750% at 3/3 (25/40/55 crystals). Upgrade Chips rise up to +200% at 4/4 (60/100/140/180 crystals). They were added in v1.26.
Yes, the chip perk is a strong chip source if you build and sell droids, especially with BB-8, C-3PO and Jawa Bartering. For example, a Gold Legendary sells for 252 chips at 4/4, or 504 with BB-8. Several players prefer the chip station first.
SRB Credit Multi (Credits): what does it do, and is it worth it?
It adds to your permanent credit multiplier. Since v1.17 each level adds +20% (it was 10%). That is only +0.2x, added to your multiplier rather than multiplying it.
No; players call it a noob trap. SRB multipliers quickly dwarf it. Buy Scrap Value and do more SRBs instead.
Super Crates: what does it do, and is it worth it?
It upgrades world crates to Gold, Diamond and Rainbow (10/25/50 crystals). Each tier gives hat variants first, then credits and chips. Only Rainbow crates can give a Nova Crystal, and rarely; DJ R-3X doubles it.
It's good for chips with BB-8 + DJ R-3X (3x), but poor as a crystal farm. v1.25 buffed crates and v1.25.2 rebalanced them to a middle ground. An accidental v1.26 nerf was reverted in v1.26.1. See the Super Crates FAQ entry.
Traits (Trait Scanner): what does it do, and is it worth it?
Trait Scanner Terminals reveal a random Trait for a droid. A Trait is a second bonus on top of the droid's normal effect. They came in v1.35.0 (17 Oct); players describe two antenna terminals near the sandcrawlers.
A roll on an Iconic costs 200 Nova Crystals. Since v1.35.1 (19 Oct), rolls on non-Iconic droids cost Credits instead; the patch note gives no price. Before that, they cost players 20-66 crystals. One player reports a few thousand credits per roll on a default Common.
Each droid has its own trait pool, shown at the terminal. A community reference lists 10 standard traits, grouped Common, Diamond and Rainbow, and 9 Iconic traits: Chopper, DJ R-3X, BB-8, D-O, Mister Bones, CB-23, R2-D2, IG-11 Marshal and WG-22. Other players describe about 10-12 common traits, a couple of rarer 'rainbow' traits per droid, and one Iconic trait per Iconic.
Rolling again replaces the old trait. Traits don't stack, and you can't keep the previous one. Unlocking a trait on an Iconic gives a random trait from its pool, not always the Iconic one. One player who bought DJ R-3X's got '10% more offline earnings' instead. Nobody has published odds; one guess is about 9% with 11 options. One player says you can only roll for your current companion.
When a trait works depends on its text. Many need the droid as your companion. R2-D2's Iconic trait works while he runs an astromech job, with no need to equip him: every astromech mission, including CB-23's, gets a 50% chance of double crates. The Iconic traits of D-O, DJ R-3X and BB-8 let you keep their companion bonus while they work a station. IG-11's trait (others can't take your blueprints) only works while he is equipped.
Chopper's Iconic trait adds +1 Multi-Crit level, which only pays off with a high crit chance. CB-23's Iconic trait triples only her own mission rewards; one player reports 240-crystal hits, once doubled to 480 by R2-D2's trait. A common trait players rate highly is +100% Upgrade Chips for crafting droids: you get chips equal to the droid's chip sell value when it finishes building, and BB-8 doubles that.
Only Iconics keep their Trait through Super Rebirth, and through Return and re-buy; normal droids lose theirs at SRB. Players disagree on what an Iconic keeps. One says only the Iconic trait stays. Several others, including two who did two SRBs since traits came out, kept ordinary traits on BB-8 and Chopper, and the station text says all traits on Iconics stay. There are also unconfirmed reports of Iconic traits lost or downgraded after an SRB.
Players disagree; it is a costly gamble. Traits are pure RNG and the odds aren't shown. A roll on an Iconic still costs 200 Nova Crystals, and many treat it as an endgame crystal sink.
Luck varies wildly. Some got an Iconic trait on the first or second roll; others spent 4,000-10,000 crystals without one. Players who collected several Iconic traits spent roughly 2,000-7,000 crystals. Set a budget.
Finish your Nova Shop upgrades first: crit, Scrap Value and lounge slots. Rolls on normal droids cost Credits, so re-roll cheap droids for '+% Upgrade Chips' and stack it with BB-8. One player rates an Iconic trait highest, because it keeps working while you add credit-rolled chip traits on other droids.
Upgrade Chip Scrap: what does it do, and is it worth it?
Scrap station hits also give Upgrade Chips. Since v1.20 it has 10 levels, up to 60 chips per hit (120 with BB-8).
Yes; buy it right after Scrap Value. You need it less once you own the Upgrade Chip Station.
Upgrade Chip Station: what does it do, and is it worth it?
It adds a base station where a non-Iconic droid makes Upgrade Chips while you're online. The rate depends on rarity and variant, up to 70/min with a Stellar Mythic. It stores up to one hour; collect with BB-8 for double. It costs 120 crystals on the Featured tab.
Yes, especially for late rebirths where chips are the bottleneck. See the Upgrade Chip Station FAQ entry.
